FED Stereo - film advance lever does not move the film

I have a FED Stereo in which all functions work, but the film lever does not advance the film. When there is no film on the receiving spool, it rotates, but if I hold the receiving spool with my fingers or if there is film in the camera, the lever moves but the spool stays in place. The design of the film advance mechanism seems to be the same as in FED 50 and 35 (and probably also Mikron and Mikron 2).

When I opened the bottom cover, I can see two stacked gears (one on top of another) - they move together when I move the lever and the receiving spool rotates freely, but when I hold the spool, only one of them moves. Could it be that the connection between these gears is not tight enough anymore?

Any suggestions on how to fix this are welcome. If you have a repair manual for FED Stereo/Boy/50/35/Mikron/Mikron 2, it would be great if you could share it.
