Aug 16 WT par 17: Why say “God’s organization might make decisions we do not fully understand” instead of simply saying the Governing Body made the decision?

We live in critical times that are hard to deal with, so these last days will be difficult for all of us. (2 Tim. 3:1, 13) We may face other challenging situations. God’s organization might make decisions that we do not fully understand. Or we might feel misunderstood or hurt by a brother or a sister. We might not immediately see a solution to our problem, or we might not get an answer to whatever it is that has affected us.”

“God’s organization might make decisions that we do not fully understand.”

This particular wording caught my attention because we know that congregations, elders, ministerial servants, publishers, pioneers, missionaries, Bethel family members, and others aren’t collectively sitting down and making these organizational decisions. The Governing Body is.

It’s really interesting the word play they use to maintain ambiguity.

The Unchosen on Netflix has undeniable parallels with the JW organization.

If you’re on Netflix, I really recommend watching Unchosen. 👀

I couldn’t help but notice some very strong parallels with the organization and the way things can operate within a high-control religious environment/cult!!

And honestly… I was FUMING. There were moments when I had to pause because the parallels were just too much.

Don’t want to give away any spoilers, though. Watch it first, and then come back and tell me what you noticed.

Group of Proud presumptious men.

How proud must a group of men be, so presumptuous as to think that if you leave their organization, you have left Jehovah?
Jesus Christ said he is the way, the truth, and the life. But no, they are the way, the truth, and the life. Without them, you can have no relationship with Jehovah.

And then I wonder, prior to the 1800s, there was no Governing Body, no Jehovah’s Witnesses, no Bible Students. Did people have no relationship with Jehovah then? Was everyone condemned to die? Isn’t that laughable?

So, you leave the organization, you leave the religion, therefore you have left Jehovah.

The scripture they always quote calls them the “faithful and discreet slave.” Exactly: a slave. With no credentials to prove that they are what they claim to be. But let us say, for the sake of argument, that they really are the faithful and discreet slave. You act like you sit on the throne of God and don’t even act your place as a slave.

But what do you expect from men who feel like, for you to have a relationship with God, you have to come through them?
I mean, they already told us that Jesus Christ, is not our mediator. Jesus Christ came for only them, not for us.

Do you know how proud you must be to think like that?
It’s also laughable that before you become a Witness, they tell you, “Use your critical thinking skills. Question the things your clergymen tell you.”

But once you get baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness, you can no longer challenge the things you hear. You are told that you should never question. You can no longer use the critical thinking skills and the brain Jehovah has given you.

You must follow, take as gospel, and never challenge the policies of the Watchtower.

Jehovah will ask them.
