* applied for medicine (not yet a med student 😭)
First question: a lot of ppl say the accommodation you pick based on the multiple choice preferences app isn’t guaranteed but is that just for accommodation because I really want an en-suite and self catered like thats a must- do I have a choice in that or would that be randomly decided. Not much of a budget but preferably under 10k
Second question: im thinking for my top choice Goldney Hall?
My preferences:
En-suite and self catered
Social but nothing crazy - want to make loads of friends but not heavy partying everyday
Med student
I’m Black so a reasonably diverse environment
15-20 min walk from Clifton campus can be a bit further
Reasonably close to shops as I love cooking and baking
Reasonably close to libraries and study spaces
I do live in Bristol currently but I don’t want to live with my parents hence why I’m looking for accommodation mainly because I heard It’s quite difficult to make friends living at home + not that much freedom at home with parents.
Planning to work a lot during the summer and save up 2-3k to help with maintenance costs.
Question 3: any med students advice please?? What does the timetable look like? Possible to have a part time job? How easy is it to make Non medicine friends ? Any self catered, I love cooking but I understand the work load can be a lot can I balance? How heavy is the workload please?
