when do you ACTUALLY eat instant noodles? 🍜

Hi! I’m a college student in Korea taking a marketing class 😊

Right now, I’m researching how Korean instant noodles/ramen could grow more in the U.S. market, but sadly I don’t really have American friends around me, so I came to Reddit for help haha 😭 ㅠ ㅠ 도와주세용 ㅠ ㅠ

I’m really curious about:

  • When do Americans usually eat instant noodles?
  • Do people see ramen as comfort food, struggle food, nostalgic food, or something else?

If you have a few minutes, I’d really appreciate it if you could fill out my short survey!

Also, if there’s anything you’ve ever wanted to ask a Korean person, feel free to ask me too haha
Thank you so much!!

한국 집밥 🙂‍↕️🏡😋

This is Korean home cooking haha.

This was a home-cooked meal my mom made when I went back to my hometown about a month ago haha. It was my younger sibling’s birthday, so she made miyeok-guk (미역국), sticky rice(찰밥), and all kinds of seasoned vegetables… but we also had LA galbi too 🙂‍↕️**🏡****✨😋 맛어요 **ㅋㅋㅋ

Instant noodles in the U.S. = struggle meal or comfort food?

Hi guysss! I’m a college student from Korea doing a small research project about instant noodles in the U.S. 🍜 heip me please . . . 도와주세요

I realized people in different countries think about “instant noodles” really differently, so now I’m curious about how Americans actually see them in daily life.

If you can, could you answer some of these casually? Even short answers are super helpful!!

  1. If you had to describe instant noodles in ONE sentence, what would you say? (ex: comfort food / broke college meal / late-night snack / emergency food lol)
  2. When do you usually eat instant noodles? (stressed? lazy? sick? gaming? after work? etc.)
  3. Do you think of instant noodles as cheap food, comfort food, nostalgic food, or something else?
  4. What brands or products come to mind first? (Ramyun counts too!)
  5. Do you know any Korean ramen brands? Like Shin Ramyun, Buldak, Chapagetti, Neoguri etc.
  6. What’s your favorite instant noodle and why?
  7. Do younger people and older people see instant noodles differently in the U.S.?

I can also answer questions about Korea or Korean ramen culture if anyone’s curious 👀

Thanks!!
