What Are Your Meanest Decks With Rare Commanders?

We all know about the Grand Arbiters of the world, but what about your more niche decks? Be it an uncommon commander or a common commander twisted into something more mean? I want all your most original, degenerate, and cruel strategies that spit in the face of John Battlecruiser to no end.

Personally, I’ve got a few fun ones—a [[Heidar, Rimewind Master]] B3 stax deck, a [[Mangara of Corondor]] control deck, a [[Kamahl, Fist of Krosa]] control deck w/ a MLD finish (don’t try this at home unless your pod is okay with it!), a [[Diaochan]] control deck that systematically removes everything that ever was…

And for common commanders taken in more unique ways, I have an [[Alela, Artful Provocateur]] Esper Pixies deck that has become a friend’s most hated deck ever, somehow, to the point of a blood vengeance against any Alela card whatsoever, alongside a [[Norman Osborn]] tempo/mass discard deck that has the punch of a discard deck without any of the weaknesses.

Finally, for the truly B4 decks, I have a [[Korvold, Gleeful Glutton]] stax-ish deck that ramps out Korvold on turns 2-3, draws a bunch of cards, and unloads stax pieces to stop people from catching up (w/ Protean Hulk combos as a finish) and, my favorite, an [[Ajani, Nacatl Pariah]] high 4 stax deck that has arguably been far and away the most successful of any of my brews in terms of raw power.

What do you have? Share some decklists and ask questions! If there’s a neat commander you haven’t made but want to break, share that too! Maybe it’ll give me inspiration, y’know?

META: A Stickied Post For New Players

I am sure everyone and their mom has seen no less than 40 “Can my B4 Voja deck be cEDH?” and it’s just another moderately strong B3 deck.

Now I get it, we all start somewhere. That’s fine. It is a food idea to explain to these people why their ideas don’t work and give them a solid idea of where to start in a respectful and friendly manner. Of course, I won’t lie and say seeing ~5 of these per day isn’t highly aggravating, and many people probably feel the same.

I petition that the mods (or someone approved by the mods) create and sticky a post in full, capitalized, damn near bolded letters, making it loud as clear that “NO, YOUR B4 DECK IS NOT cEDH - HERE’S WHY” with a comprehensive explanation as to what a cEDH deck generally is, recognition of the gray areas of off-meta decks that could be played but aren’t great tournament choices, and why most B3 and B4 decks very obviously don’t fit that bill. That way, nobody will be at a loss for something to tell them that stomping their barely B2, legally B3 pod does not qualify them for cEDH tournaments.

Please leave thoughts because man, would it do us a lot of good to nip this problem in the bud already.
