My latest Meimay

I love her so much! Purchased at the end of my first week of work at a new job - back to work after being too unwell to work for some time, so the week was extremely tiring and I needed a treat 😴

She is presently getting a wee 'surgery' because I'm paranoid her cape and necklace will fall off, so a tiny stitch is being added at the back of her neck to hold them both on.

Stop saying something is made with 100% vegan wool

I stg. I keep finding things at craft markets that are labeled as being made with vegan wool.

Acrylic. They mean acrylic. Ffs. Stop.

I don't have anything against acrylic - my favourite wearable is made from Caron Cakes skinny cakes. But people have got to stop using the draw of wool to get people to buy your acrylic items.

I get it. Some people have problems with wool items whether for sensory reasons, ethical reasons, or whatever. But you're actually probably stopping people from buying your items then if they glance at the sign and see 100% wool on it! If you want non-animal fibre there is always cotton and bamboo too, if you don't like saying it is made from plastic.

Just say what it is. If people take issue with it, they're being a dick. If you are embarrassed to sell things that are acrylic/polyester, then you gotta do your own work to get over that or stop doing it.

The only exception is the person who had their items listed as being made with 'vegan wool' and a photo of their pet sheep, who they shear and process the wool from for their products.

I love the opening screen

Just wanted to share my love of the opening screen, repeatedly showing off my photos of the butts of Ho-oh and Lugia, because I can't ever take a good shot of them 😆

An excellent little guy

Having a bad week, figured I'd pick up a perfect order booster to improve things. Did it ever 😆 (Yes, it is now sleeved, I just had to take a pic immediately)

I am aiming to collect Little Guys™️ and Meowth is definitely a little guy, so in the collection he goes 😀

First Baggu of the day

Finally have added a Baggu to my life ❤️ Sage stripe fanny pack, and I love it. Decked out with some pins, a little duck keychain, and a mini backpack which helpfully has straps that make it fit easy 😀

Water woes

I have met Wooper. I can suck up water. I learned to do this in a pond. All was fine.

I tried it in the ocean next to a bit I have been making look nice. The water is now awful and lumpy.

How on earth do I fix this? I don't know if I can place blocks underneath to fix it a la minecraft as the water is too deep for me to do that much before 'drowning'.

In other news I haven't missed the falling sand mechanics of minecraft before, it is a weird feeling 😆

Anyone know who is hiding in my colander?

Edit: Answered! Grey house spider. She has a temporary accommodation in an old cherry tomato container and will be released into the garage where she won't go on a midnight walk and fall in a colander under a dripping tap!

Was previously living on the handle of my kitchen green waste bin, has a nice web there. Never got a good pic before but was happy to let her live (assuming a girl) as she was quite good against any insects trying to sneak in the window.

Found her in the colander in the sink, which has a drip. Have moved colander and new friend(?) on top of the green waste bin to let her move on when she felt like it.

I hope she is friendly, she does a good job with the bugs and is pretty!

The completed item! Splitting and grafting worked 😀

I finished the socks for my mother, and this is the result!

The splitting and grafting worked great and Mum loves them, and the fit is perfect! My Dad was very interested in the process and engineering of it all when I told him about what I did. Now I just need to find a pattern he'd like for when Fathers Day rolls around in September 🤔

First time splitting/grafting a sock - wish me luck!

I'm working on a pair of the Ginko Garden Socks by Stephanie Mazur/Lost Sock Knits for my Mum, my first colourwork socks (not my first colourwork however! Have done sweaters/mitts etc before).

When I first worked with the indicated needles (2.25mm stockinette, 2.5mm colourwork) the colourwork and ribbing was too tight, so I cast on again and bumped both needles a size (2.5mm and 2.75mm). This ended with the sock in the pick. The stockinette section was perfect, but the colourwork came out baggy. I knit the second sock entirely on 2.5mm and it has come out perfect - I just needed bigger floats not bigger needles (my fault, I went with my usual size floats that I've used for round yoked colourwork/mitts, which don't need to stretch as much).

Now, I could cast on a third sock and knit it in it's entirety, or I could be crazy and split the sock, reknit the colourwork, and splice the whole thing back together.

Wish me luck, I will let y'all know how it goes!
