Newbie’s question around car servicing
My BE 6’s first service is due at 2,000 km, and the odometer is already around 2,000 km right now. But I’m currently on a road trip.
The nearest service center is around 120 km away in Vellore, and going there would basically waste an entire day and mess up the whole trip plan.
My original plan was to finish the trip and return to Hyderabad for the first service. By then, the odo would have been around 2,800 km. I already informed the service center manager about this, and he said it was fine.
Now there’s a small change in plans, and by the time I reach Hyderabad, the odo may touch around 3,500 km.
I called the same service center manager again, explained everything, and he still said it should be okay. But when I asked if he could give any official confirmation over email or message, he directly said that’s not possible.
So now I’m a bit confused and wanted to ask people here:
What’s the usual service buffer allowed beyond the scheduled km, especially with Mahindra EVs?
Is crossing the first service interval by this much actually okay in real-world cases?
Can this affect warranty or future claims in any way?
I’m new to car servicing and ownership in general, so any advice or experiences would really help.
