Floor Plan
Has anyone built something similar to this? Love the bones of this floorplan but tryin to figure out how to incorporate basement stairs, a half bath, and a mudroom area.

Thoughts on our proposed changes? And recommendations for our other “wants”?
For the left side of the house, we feel like the stairs where they were kinda chew up a lot of space and don’t really leave us much option of where to put the pantry or powder room that would also still allow us some actual space for shoe/coats etc when coming in the garage door. Is it possible to extend the garage wider and possibly put the stairs for the bonus room/basement right inside the door? We need two sets of stairs. One to bonus room above garage and one to basement.
For the master bathroom. We don’t want a soaking tub. We’d also like to go with one longer vanity instead of two separate. Ideas on how to reconfigure the bathroom- would potentially like to use the space we’d gain in the bathroom to make the closet and or laundry a little bigger. Also would be nice if the laundry connected to the closet.
Really open to whatever suggestions you might have for the left side of the house to help it to flow a little better.
Otherwise, for the living room, ideally we’d like to add about 5-6 feet of width. Close off a bit of the porch to make a foyer, and then slide bedrooms 2/3 up so that side is flush with the dining room wall.
Let us know what your thoughts and suggestions are!
Help me with the left side of this house plan. I cannot figure out how to make it work. We plan to increase the square footage to around 2000 sqft. On the left side, looking to add stairs to basement and bonus room over garage, 1/2 bath, and a drop zone/mudroom.
Help!

You all have been so helpful with your recommendations. In the first photo, in red are some of the changes some suggested from my original post. The second photo is the original plan. How can I reconfigure the master bathroom to eliminate the tub and make the most sense of the space. What other recommendations do you have?
What changes would you make to this floorplan? Meeting with our contractor soon. we plan to make living room larger, remove tub from master bath, make the garage larger, and possibly try to swap the stairs the go up to the bonus room over the garage and down to the basement. Open to all other suggestions! This is our forever home and we want to get it right!
Thinking about making the great room larger, extending the garage, eliminating the tub from the master, moving linen closet inside bath #2. What other changes would you make to improve?
Can anyone think of any creative ways I can help pay down the balance of my husband‘s student loans? He went to school for a traditional bachelors degree and unfortunately took out a good deal of private student loans at an outrageous interest rate to cover his costs. He made regular payments on them but never made it anywhere due to the ungodly interest rates. We have since refinanced them and are making headway, but still have many years left of payments. Currently, we pay almost $1,500 a month just for his loans. My husband is such a hardworking state trooper and I would love to be able to surprise him by being able to pay down the balance faster. I also work full time and we have a little one at home with another on the way so looking for some sort of creative extra income stream I can do after putting my son to bed at night to be able to dig out faster.
