Polyp flare when sick?

I (31F) have had polyps / the triad for about 2 years, I am on Dupixent so it is well controlled. However, I’ve noticed that when I catch a cold, sinus infection, URI, etc. that the polyps seem to flare despite the Dupixent. Has anyone else experienced this?

I fly and travel a lot for work so I often catch a common cold but I feel like it takes me sooo much longer to recover than it would prior to try the polyps emerging. After \~1 week, my aymptoms start to mirror exactly what it was like before I started on Dupixent- constant runny nose, cough, smell interrupted, etc. Curious if anyone else has this experience and if there are any suggestions. Thanks!

GNP Group Backpacking Recs

I (31F) am looking to visit GNP solo at the end of Aug / September. I’m looking into multi-day backpacking tours, mainly for my safety since I’ll be alone.

Any suggestions on good companies to look into? Open to other multi-day guided trips as well. TIA!

New Fear of the Dark- Help!

We have an 18-month old GP/GSD mix who has been an absolute joy since day one. No fears, no behavior issues, absolutely perfect.

We live in the city so all bathroom breaks are leash walks around the neighborhood/block. About a week ago, I was taking him out for his evening bathroom routine when someone lit off a firework about 75 yards away from us. We didn’t notice any immediate issues, but a few days later, around 9:30pm he became notably anxious, restless, shaking, hiding in the closet, and refused to go outside until morning. He typically sleeps in bed with us but has been sleeping in the closet ever since. This has continued for ~5 days.

Any suggestions on how to reduce his fear of the dark? Thankfully he hasn’t become destructive or had any accidents. But we live in an area where it can get dark as early as 4pm in the winter if this persists.

Downtown siege??

Hi everyone! Question to the group: I live in downtown Milwaukee, a very urban area. I have noticed a growing family of herons has taken residence in a tree outside of our window over the last two summers. I started to notice last summer when we’d be lovingly woken up every morning at 3am with a “OUAAAAKKKK… cluck cluck cluck cluck”. I figured when their young grew and left last fall that I’d never see them again.
.
.
To my shock and delight, I saw one come back last week! Then, to my slight terror, I looked and saw about 5 more staring down at me and my dog this morning. Is this normal behavior for herons?? We live near Lake Michigan but there isn’t much for wetlands anywhere nearby? I’ve come to love them and want to be sure they feel welcome in our neighborhood.

Edit: I just re-counted and there are at least 8 of them.

Black-Crowned Night-Heron family downtown?

I live near Juneau Towers, last summer we had a family of very vocal birds making a home outside of our window. Their peak enjoyment seemed to be the daily 3am “OUAKKKK” followed by a “click click click click”. After a ton of research, we deduced these were black-crowned night-herons that made their nest, then left in the fall.

This evening, I noticed two of them are back! Is this normal behavior for herons to nest in the middle of a city?? I am so delighted to see they are back, but I understand they are typically found in wetlands?
