Metrolink updated maps w/A Line, D Line Metro extensions

Metrolink recently updated the maps on their website. They definitely need to emphasize the connections—especially since Metrolink only had ONE rail connection with Metro before the Pomona extension.
I've heard that the Pomona Metro station is showing signs of (passenger) life; anyone notice if the Metrolink station is getting a boost from Metro transfers?

A Line extension to Claremont "progressing well"

From Gold Line construction authority CEO Habib Balian: "Work on the Pomona to Claremont extension is progressing well. This week, the Construction Authority initiated work with SSH Joint Venture (SSH JV), the construction manager team awarded the contract last month. Following issuance of the Notice to Proceed for the pre-construction phase on Monday, the Construction Authority held a kick-off meeting with SSH JV on Tuesday (shown below). The purpose of the meeting was to introduce key members of each team, overview the roles and responsibilities during the initial phase of work, highlight the schedule for the ongoing design effort, and explain how SSH JV will be coordinating with the design team, corridor cities and third parties.

Additionally, this week Parsons delivered their baseline 30% design package. The Parsons team is now underway to take the baseline design to 60%. To inform that effort, crews are out conducting investigative work along the rail corridor between Garey Avenue in Pomona and Claremont Boulevard in Claremont (as shown below, left). Over the summer, crews will continue work to verify utilities, drainage, slope elevations and other existing conditions along the 2.3-mile project corridor.

And lastly, the Construction Authority continues to coordinate with third party utilities to ensure any work needed to be completed within the rail corridor is scheduled ahead of major construction beginning on the extension. Charter/Spectrum was the first to begin. In April, Charter/Spectrum crews installed the infrastructure needed to underground their communications lines, which currently run overhead along Towne Avenue in Pomona. Last week, crews returned to pull the new fiber cables (as shown in the photo above, right), which will be activated later this year. Once activated, the overhead cables will be removed. Similar activities will be started soon at other locations along the project by other utilities."

What did Rain do with Kay's body?

This question will be at the heart of the sequel (if it happens, please!). I believe Fede purposefully left it open-ended... Did Rain jettison the black goo-tainted body? Keep it on board in a cryo-bed? Or... is Kay still alive, and sleeping/comatose in a cryo-bed? What do you all think happened? And how will it tie into the sequel?

Alien: Romulus' small cast works to its benefit

Spoilers: Just had a rewatch and a thought: The first character to die, Navarro (played by Aileen Wu), is a legitimate "person." She doesn't have a huge amount of screen time, but you know she's dating Bjorn, is a skilled pilot, basically Tyler's #2, prays in Mandarin, smokes, like to soak up the sun, talked Rain off a ledge after Andy found out the plans to abandon him, helped Rain overpower Rook, and wisely advised against opening the doors in the cryoroom. Compare that to the first one to die in Covenant (Ledward...Did he have a line before he was infected?), Prometheus (someone with glasses?), or even Aliens (a Marine?).
Romulus really followed (copied) the effective formula of Alien by featuring a small, memorable cast. Deaths hit harder this way. Fede and old-school Ridley realized that a lot of meatbags do not a great horror movie make.

D Line effect on Dodger Shuttle

I think a little-discussed benefit to the extention will be an explosion of riders on the Dodgers Shuttle and a lot fewer cars on Sunset. Just the three new stations open up hundreds of thousands of residents who now have a one-seat ride to Union Station and a quick walk to the shuttle. Not saying the shuttle is perfect (especially for the ride back), but it's been a nice option to get to games car-free. The Dodgers host the Braves today, and the Giants all this week. Let's hope Metro gets the word out.
