I’m a learner driver in Cork and I’m looking for my first automatic car. I mainly drive around Cork City (groceries, shopping, short trips), probably under 8,000 km/year.
I’m deciding between:

I’m looking for the most reliable and economical car for the next 5-8 years.
My main concerns are:
DSG gearbox reliability on the VW.
Hybrid battery life and repair costs on the Honda.
Parts and servicing availability around Cork/Midleton.
Insurance and maintenance costs.

Which would you choose and why? Especially if you’ve owned either in Ireland. Thanks!
