Looking for an Armenian word or phrase about patience / quiet strategy

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for the right Armenian word or short phrase, and I’d really value the ear of native speakers, a literal dictionary translation won’t cut it.

The idea I want to capture isn’t just “chess”. It’s the spirit of it : patience, quiet strategy, moving forward carefully, winning without noise. The kind of game Tigran Petrosian was famous for. Anticipating, staying calm, advancing without ever forcing it.

I’m looking for something like :
an Armenian proverb or saying about patience, or “slow but sure”
a word or expression for calm, deliberate progress
anything from chess culture that carries that feeling, a term, an idiom, a turn of phrase

If you suggest something, could you also write it in Armenian script with a rough transliteration ? I’d like to get the spelling exactly right.

Thanks a lot 🙏🏼

Great illustrator, zero textile experience. Dealbreaker?

Hey everyone,

I’m working on launching my clothing brand with a first small capsule, and I think I’ve found one or two illustrators whose style I really like, but they’ve told me they have no experience in apparel/textile. Is that a dealbreaker?

Two of my pieces are tees (screenprint/DTF and maybe some embroidery), so I imagine that’s manageable. But I also have a jersey with a fair amount of detail and info that needs to be communicated to the factory, plus a hoodie in the same boat.

For context: I’m producing abroad (small runs, MOQ 100 per piece), so I won’t be on-site to catch mistakes, which means the tech pack has to communicate everything correctly on its own.

So my question: should I hire an illustrator for the design and then a separate, more technical person to build the tech packs? Can a junior designer produce a solid tech pack, or is that its own skill? I’m trying to keep costs down since I don’t have a big budget — but I figure if a bad tech pack means paying for 3 rounds of failed samples, I’m better off paying someone competent up front.

Thanks for any advice!

[HIRING] Graphic designer for a small apparel capsule / screen print & embroidery files (heritage brand)

Hi everyone,

Who I am: I’m a French person (based in France) of Armenian descent, launching a small clothing brand, a first capsule of a few pieces, that pays tribute to my heritage. I’ve designed the concepts myself and have clear references and direction. (French-speaking designers welcome, I’m happy to work in French or English.)

What I need: someone to bring my designs to life, not just reproduce them, but redraw them with real craft and add their own touch. I’d love a designer I can actually discuss the concepts with (composition, details, how to best execute an idea), who then delivers clean, production-ready files for the manufacturer, vector work, color separations, placement, and tech packs for screen printing and embroidery.

Strong illustration + textile/graphic skills are the priority. Being familiar with Armenian culture or script is a plus (to keep the text and references accurate), but not a strict requirement.

Scope: I’d like to start with a test on one or two t-shirt designs, and continue with the rest of the capsule if it goes well.

Budget: paid work. As a ballpark, around 150–300€ per design for the redraw + production files (tech pack included), open to discussion depending on complexity. I’d start with one or two tees as a test, then continue with the rest of the capsule if it goes well. Happy to share references and details in DM.

If this sounds like your kind of project, feel free to PM me.

Thanks!

Looking for a graphic designer familiar with Armenian culture/language for a passion project

Barev everyone,

I’m a French person of Armenian descent working on a clothing brand that pays tribute to Armenian culture in a subtle, understated way (not the usual flags-and-slogans approach). I’ve designed the concepts myself, but I’m looking for a graphic designer who knows Armenian culture and language to help bring them to life properly, especially to make sure the Armenian text and cultural references are accurate and meaningful.

It’s a small first capsule, paid work of course. If this resonates with you or you know someone, feel free to DM me. Thanks!

Help with translation

Hi !
I have a question about how to write this Armenian expression : « Mernem Djanid » or « Mernem Janid », should there be a « d » or not for « D.Janid » ?

Mersi !
