Has anybody tried one of the new AE clones?

Has anybody tried one of the new AE clones?

I saw this AE clone https://github.com/storytold/effectcraft

it looks pretty close to the original and honestly if it's not as buggy and ill-optimized like AE I might consider switching over. Not having 3rd party plugins would suck so I might not switch over completely but just use the clone for doing simple mockups.

For people who've tried this clone or another, what was your experience like? Is it less glitchy? Does it actually feel like AE?

Does anyone know how to change the temp on these in Robarts?

Going up or down doesn’t actually change the temperature despite the number changing. Holding the home button shows the temperature override it’s set at. All the different rooms have different override temperatures which leads me to think people know how to actually change the temperature override.

How the get The Vocal Market dataset for free?

I want to train my own models and I've downloaded all the best free datasets like MUSDB18-HQ, MoisesDB, and mvsep's multisong dataset, but it seems the best one is The Vocal Market dataset which costs a lot of money. Is there any torrent or .onion where I can get it for free?

Are there any discords with producers who are already established?

Every time I get try and get/give feedback I notice that that I’m much further in my production journey than the people I interact with online. All the feedback I get is glowing but I know my tracks could be better and I’m at the stage where I need the advice of actual experienced professionals to get better.

Is there any online spaces for people who already have good music but are trying to take their tracks to the next level?

I know Skrill often finds underground styles and makes them mainstream by putting his own spin on them, is there anyway to predict where he'll go next?

I want to find the music styles he's currently listening to and the underground artists that are going to pop soon. it used to be isoxo and knock2 but they're definitely mainstream now. That style of sable valley trap with wink, moore kismet, etc. are firmly established and I wouldn't say really underground anymore. I'm curious on where we're headed next both in terms of style and artists. Where can you see Sonny pivoting to? He's been on a latin tear with some baile mixed in and I'm wondering where wind is headed in terms of style, I want to find some next up and comers!

Why do some ableton producers use a mix of Xfer's OTT as well as stock OTT?

I saw a stream by kompany where he uses both and I'm wondering if people find a sound difference between them since the xfer version is modelled after the ableton version.

When mixing for loudness are both your drums buss and your sidechain buss clipping/limited to 0dB? After they're summed to you clip again at 0dB?

I got it in my mind that clipping everything to zero then clipping the summed waveformed is the way to go. If I have a ceiling of 0db and my drums and sidechain buss are clipping at 0 then when summed it goes over 0 but then it's clipped again at 0. But then I saw a MUST DIE stream where they said their drums are always higher than the other layers then everything is clipped together and because the drums are higher it means they duck out other things when the clipping or limiting occurs. Wondering what people think of this? Do you usually clip the sum back to where the individual busses were clipping

How does Patois make their pork belly so good?

The port belly in their jerk pork belly yakisoba dish is like top 5 things I’ve ever eaten. I didn’t know pork belly could taste that good. I thought initially there was cheese or something on it but then I realized is was just the creaminess of the pork belly itself.

I’m sure a lot of it comes down to the cut of meat but is there any way to try and replicate something like this at home?

I have tons of pirated intel plugins and software and am about to start the long tedious task of migrating to Apple silicon. Any advice is appreciated. Right now my plan is this:

  1. Right after getting new macbook pirate new Apple silicon plugins 2) if any plugins don't work download the old intel version onto my new mac and run in Rosetta 3) Any new project moving forward uses only Apple silicon plugins

I'm not so worried about the plugins themselves but the extra files the install in hidden folders and dependencies. I can't think of a way to do this migration cleanly so I'd love some thoughts on how to handle this.
