One of the best holidays ever

Pitch Black ✅

Litchfield National Park ✅

Kakadu ✅

Tiwi Islands ✅

Mindil, Parap, Rapid Creek and Nightcliff Markets ✅

Piping hot bowl of Laksa at Rapid Creek Market ✅

Casino Pool ✅

Try not complain about the heat to locals ✅

I'll be back! Thank you Darwin, what a sick holiday. I tried my hardest not to listen to the outside noise about this place and I was so glad I did, I feel like it's one of these places that you just have to take it how it is and make the most of it. Also thank you to the locals as well, you guys have tapped into something up here that all of the other cities lack down south, thank you for being so hospitable and friendly.

Perth-Phuket

Had quite a good experience on the A321-Neo's to Phuket. Smooth as process at the airport for checking in and bag drop. Pre-Booked our meals and they were actually really good onboard. No frills whatsoever but the tablet holder on the back of the seats was really good as I'd downloaded movies for the flight. Crew were attentive and friendly. All up it was about $320 for a one way direct flight. Saved me about $400 flying with another carrier including a 4 hour layover in KL.

Pretty impressed. Thanks JQ

Bit of a throwback

Not to be too sentimental and too much of a Debbie Downer, but I stumbled across this video again and couldn't help but think that this is only 10 years ago, but the Australia we grew up in and knew back then I fear is slowly slipping through our fingers. This whole video embodies the Australia I grew up in and am now watching fade away. Sad.

When did we stop saying thank you to Bus Drivers?

Currently on a CAT bus through the city and not one patron has thanked the bus driver at all on this trip so far? I don't catch buses regularly, but when I used to every person would. Seems crazy to me.

Chart and Map Shop in Freo

Is anyone else also absolutely devastated in hearing the Chart and Map Shop in Freo is no longer? I've only recently found out and was gutted to hear the news. Being a long time seafarer - the Chart and Map Shop was an absolute essential for me in getting my first callipers and slide rule to my first charts of Fremantle and Rottnest and up to the Whitsundays. Some absolute relics were to be found in there and ran by the most knowledgeable people, seems unfair that places like that can be here one day and gone the next. Does anyone know why they're gone?
