Went to Thai time today and it’s temporarily closed for renovations :( had to get yellow curry elsewhere

I’m driving from Yakima to Forks Washington for a week at Olympic national park, but along the way from Yakima I can pass thru rainier for like an extra 30
mins compared to the optimal route.The traffic might make it not worth it, but it would be a weekday in the am, so my question is could it be done in a way where we drive through not add a lot of time but some awesome views and a quick stop to eat or something.
