Descendants of ex-Italians
I am debating whether I should hire an Italian citizenship lawyer, head over to Italy, and take my case to court. Any advice?
I was born to an ex-Italian citizen. I was born to an Italian born parent who lost their Italian citizenship as teenagers when their parents (my grandparents) naturalized. We have lost automatic rights to Italian citizenship.
In light of the Supreme court’s decision that those born with Italian citizenship as “original, permanent, and imprescriptible,” this should mean that my parent never actually lost it, which means that I have an automatic right to it.
I am wondering what everyone may think of this argument, because I’m tempted to try.
