After Owning Maxwell 1, Maxwell 2, and Kithara, the Nova Elite Shocked Me

Pewnie. Przerobiłem to na naturalny angielski w stylu posta na Reddit. Zachowałem Twój entuzjazm, ale brzmi bardziej jak post napisany przez native speakera. Bez długich myślników.
I’ve owned the Audeze Maxwell 1, Audeze Maxwell 2, and the Asus ROG Kithara paired with a Fosi K7 DAC/amp. The Fosi made a massive difference in both sound quality and power.
No matter what I bought, I could never find exactly what I was looking for: great clarity, instrument separation, and impactful bass. I was already saving up for the Hifiman Arya Organic because I couldn’t justify buying them outright.
Up until now, I honestly thought the Maxwell 2 had no real competition in the wireless gaming space. For wired gaming, the Kithara has been my number one.
Still, I kept chasing something better. I fell into that endless upgrade loop where you’re always looking for the next thing.
Then I found the SteelSeries Nova Elite in an outlet for around $400. I ordered them, but after reading more reviews I regretted it within 10 minutes. I even tried to cancel the order, but it was already too late. The store told me they were waiting to be picked up for two days. Every review made them sound overpriced and clearly worse than everything I already owned.
I picked them up just before the package would have been automatically returned by the courier. I figured I’d at least give them a try.
My God… what a surprise.
No, they don’t have quite the same raw power as the Maxwell 2, but they’re much closer than I expected. Close enough that comfort suddenly became a huge factor. If they had sounded like the “trash” everyone described, I would’ve happily gone back to suffering with the heavy Maxwells.
The moment I put them on, I loved them. They’re light, incredibly comfortable, and for a closed-back headset they sound surprisingly clean. The bass is punchy without bleeding into the vocals or instruments. You can push the EQ pretty hard if that’s your thing. They have that same fun, head-bobbing energy with music that I loved about the Kithara.
No, they don’t sound quite as clean as the Kithara, but they’re honestly not that far behind.
I’ll say this honestly: I think a lot of the people hating on these are just bass heads who don’t really know what they’re listening to. These headphones are a hidden gem, but only if you can get them well below MSRP.
At around $400, they’re an absolute steal in my opinion.
I still need to spend more time gaming with them, but for music they’ve completely exceeded my expectations.
I’m writing this while I’m still excited because after reading all the negative reviews, I almost didn’t even give them a chance.
What a surprise.

Edition XS for 160 or Arya Stealth for 420, and is Nova Elite even worth considering?

Guys I need help. This might be the dumbest audiophile dilemma you’ve seen here but I’m losing my mind.
I’ve already owned Maxwell 2, Kithara and I’m running everything on a FOSI K7. I am completely burned out from chasing the “perfect” headphones for both gaming and music.
Right now I have two deals:
SteelSeries Nova Elite for 420 dollars from outlet
Used Arya Stealth for the same 420 dollars
Arya is currently my number one target, but my brain keeps going “what if Elite is actually good?” even though I feel like it’s just another overpriced gaming headset.
And to make things worse, I also found Edition XS for 160 dollars.
So now I have three options and zero sanity left:
Nova Elite 420
Arya Stealth 420
Edition XS 160
How big is the gap between Edition XS and Arya Stealth really? Is Arya worth more than 2x the price?
And please be brutally honest about Nova Elite. People call it “super detailed” and “amazing” but their reference is usually other gaming headsets.
Roast it if you have to. I need someone to kill my FOMO before I make a stupid decision.

Aaaaah I think I’ll go with the Arya Organic it sounds top-tier and it’s easy to drive.

Chasing the perfect all-in-one setup: Maxwell 2, Kithara, and maybe LCD-2C/LCD-X

Okay guys, I have a serious problem.

From the beginning: I used Maxwell 1 for about a year. The sound was okay, but they were very uncomfortable, heavy as hell, bad weight distribution, pressure, etc.

I bought Maxwell 2. Supposedly heavier, but weight doesn’t matter at all. No discomfort, bass, sound is amazing, music, games, immersion just wow.

Then something got into my head and I bought Kithara + Fosi K7, tested in Bond FIRST Light. Honestly, they were kind of meh for gaming. Weak positioning, flat sound, no excitement at any point, just boring, like this is not how it should sound.

But for music like Metallica, Bon Jovi, BTS oh my god. Separation appeared, every instrument has its place, music has power and bass exactly where and when it should be.

(In the meantime I sold the Maxwell 2.)

Okay I’ll admit it, I have ADHD hyperfocus. When I have too much “space” I create problems for myself. Right now this is the most important thing in my head and I won’t get rid of these thoughts until I make a decision.

Back to the point. I started missing the Maxwell 2… that thick bass etc. So I sold Kithara, ordered Maxwell 2 again, put them on and… disappointment. What the hell? Kithara sounded so good and got my brain used to better sound or am I imagining things? Because if I am, I’m completely screwed.

Right now I listed both Maxwell 2 and Fosi K7 for sale. Whichever sells first, I keep the other and go that direction.

I’m thinking about LCD-2 Classic (when I save up) or LCD-X. I’m also considering Hifiman Edition XS as a “right now” option, or maybe Hifiman Arya Organic later instead of the LCD route.

Until then I’d use Game One + Fosi K7 if that’s a good path.

But will those headphones be good for gaming? For music they must be amazing.

I’m looking for one setup for everything. Advice like “get one for gaming and one for music” doesn’t work for me because I will end up using one for both anyway.

Used Maxwell 2 & Kithara (Fosi K7) is there anything actually better around $1000?

Maxwell 2 gave me an incredible sound experience- easily the best bass, beautiful clarity, great separation, and plenty of volume. They were also more comfortable than Maxwell 1. If someone says it’s only a small upgrade in terms of music quality, I strongly disagree.

I got frustrated because in my country (Poland), the price for Maxwell 2 is around $550. Meanwhile, in the US, the Asus ROG Kithara costs around $300, which makes the price difference hard to justify. I ended up returning the Maxwell 2 and trying the Kithara instead, which I managed to get for about $180 after cashback.

At first, plugged into my fairly good motherboard (Asus B850M + WiFi), they sounded flat and lifeless. Over USB-C with the built-in DAC, it was better. Then I bought a Fosi K7 DAC for around $160, and honestly- it sounds good now. Still, I prefer the Maxwell 2, but the price difference in my country just isn’t worth it.

For context, I also tried the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro 2- absolutely terrible sound, muddy and dirty.

Now, for my birthday, I’m thinking about getting something even better than Maxwell 2. What I’m looking for is top-tier detail, separation, and powerful, real bass.

ChatGPT suggested the Audeze LCD-2 Classic, but I’m not fully convinced- it tends to say a lot of things. I honestly don’t know anything that sounds better than Kithara or Maxwell 2 so far, but that’s exactly what I’m looking for.
We’re looking for hi-fi headphones, not gaming ones

My budget is around $1000. Any recommendations?
Ironically, they’ll be used mostly for gaming… please don’t judge 😅

Asus Rog kithara a702 Please help with dac.

I returned the Maxwell 2. The Kithara sounds too quiet, and I feel like I’m not getting its full potential.

Which DAC/amp should I choose? I’m considering the G6, G8, and FiiO K7. The K7 is probably overkill, especially since it costs around $300 in my country. The Fosi K7 is also about $300.

I just want to unlock the full potential of these headphones—I don’t need a lot of extra power or excessive headroom. Which option would you recommend?
