Requesting help in making diorama edges

(Guys, I got this image from one of the top posts here)

I'm a newbie in dioramas and I would love some help in how to do diorama edges properly. Most of the tutorials I watch focus on the subject itself and rarely handle this part.

I saw some real ones and they look so smooth and clean, how do you usually do the edges? I was thinking smoothing out the XPS foam board right? But what if its several layers on top of each other? Do I like slap something on it to smoothen it like a bricklayer smoothing house walls?

I sincerely appreciate your assistance

Hello guys! Welcome to my Taborime!

A few weeks ago I posted my WIP Manola, so here's my take on Enbesa.

I wanted to finish my two islands and make them fully self-sufficient before finally doing the last quest in the region. After that, it's back to Crown Falls and finally installing New Horizons.

As for mods, I only used two: the island-wide Trade Union and increased canal irrigation range. I looked at the Enbesa cosmetic mods, but most of them felt a bit too "look at my glorious empire" for my taste. I wanted to keep the region feeling vanilla-ish, grounded, and (hopefully) lore-friendly.

I know it kinda looks like the slums. :(

Hi guys, allow me to show you some pics of my ongoing Crown Falls and Manola build!

Installed cosmetic mods way too late because I didn't want to risk some warp f**ckery. The cities are still unfinished, with lots of empty plots and placeholder buildings, but it's finally starting to look the way I imagined. The only places I left with no mods are the old towns in both Manola and Crown Falls, the ones I built where Im just trying to survive against O'Mara a few dozen hours back. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
