27 F4M, Brisbane. Seeking future husband- applications open

27 [F4M] Husband Wanted, applications now open

**Position Available: Husband**
*Applications now open*
After careful consideration (and what I believe is an adequately powered sample size of disappointing dating experiences), I’ve decided to recruit a husband via Reddit.
Is this unconventional? Yes. Is it significantly less weird than some of the people I’ve met in real life? Also yes.
I’m approaching this the same way I approach most things in life: intentionally, with a sense of humour, and after collecting enough evidence to justify a slightly ridiculous decision. So….welcome to the recruitment process.
**About the Hiring Committee**
I’m 27 and live in Brisbane. I’ve accidentally built a life I genuinely love. I have a career that challenges me every day. Friends who are family. A calendar that’s usually full of adventures, conferences, gym sessions, last-minute flights, and conversations that somehow begin with, “I have a question…” and end four hours later.
I’m intensely curious about people and the world. I love museums, bookstores, wine bars, trivia nights, exercising, travelling, terrible karaoke, and anyone who gets visibly excited talking about the thing they love. I care deeply about making the world a little better than I found it.
I’m fiercely independent but independence isn’t the same thing as wanting to do life alone. Lately I’ve found myself wishing there was someone beside me to say, “You’ll love this,” when I discover a new restaurant, book a trip, achieve something exciting, or stumble across something beautifully ridiculous. That’s what I’m looking for. Not someone to complete my life but someone to share it with.
**Essential Selection Criteria**
You are probably somewhere between 27 and 35.
Ideally based in Brisbane (or at least planning to be).
You’re genuinely kind and compassionate.
Progressive.
Emotionally mature and self-reflective.
Intellectually curious.
Fun, and enjoy aggressive banter.
Respect for women (beyond saying “I respect women”
You must enjoy having an ambitious partner without feeling the need to control her or “rein her in”.
**Highly Desirable**
You can laugh at yourself.
You have at least one niche interest that lights you up.
You’ll happily spend three hours talking after dinner because neither of us realised what time it was.
You think competence is attractive.
You’d like a dog one day.
*\*Working in or experience in academia highly desirable but absolutely not essential*
**Next Steps**
Successful applicants will progress to Stage Two. This involves several two-way interviews, photo exchange, reference checks, discovering whether there’s mutual attraction, and discussing a couple of important compatibility topics that don’t really belong in a public job advertisement.
If we both think there’s something worth exploring, you might progress to the “in the wild stage”….
**How to Apply**
Skip “hey.” Tell me about yourself. Tell me what you care about. Tell me what made you stop scrolling and think, “You know what… this is a bit unhinged but I kind of love it”.
I look forward to receiving your application!
Kind regards,
The Hiring Committee (me and a few of my closest friends who tried to say “just get on Hinge” but knew they were not going to win)
