Trying to learn to bend notes

I can bend/scoop the high C pretty easily by shifting my tongue position. Those high register notes are pretty easy.

How would you go about learning to bend/scoop the throat tones? Moving my tongue half almost no effect, and im not sure what else i can do beside relaxing my embouchure to detune the note. Any wisdom? Does reed strength effect this? I want to play jazz, and was told by someone playing with a softer reed would be more appropriate, can anyone confirm?

Thanks

Can i get an under sink RO unit without ever installing it in the sink?

I know it seems goofy, but im in an apartment, and after researching countertop RO units, i dont think its worth it. The under sink units are half the price of countertop units. Also, Im not going to replace the sink in my apt, so im wondering: could i just install it under the sink and have the faucet it comes with just chillin down there? Outside of it being inconvenient, is there any real reason to not do this as a temporary solution until i buy a house? Has anyone done this before and have wisdom?

why arent small houses a thing

i was running today and saw a small home that was clearly apart of the property of the larger house next to it(all in the same fence), but it looked like it was obviously someones home in days long passed, and it had me wondering why new homes being built arent small like this? Id love to buy a small 800sq/ft home, maybe even smaller, but these dont seem to exist? Hell, i dont even need a basement! Just give me an apartment sized house!

How do you commit to buying a house when every job is asking me to move?

Im lucky and blessed to have a remote gig, and Id love to move to a LCOL area and be able to live well below my means, but Im seeing less and less remote work available when i job search or talk to recruiters. How can i in good conscience buy a house when i have no sense of certainty that i will have my job a year from now? I mean, my company did a lay off last year, and while i was lucky, i have no idea what i would do if i lost this job considering i cannot get a single response from any job i apply to. What am i supposed to do? Just stay in apartments for ever and let companies move me around the country as they see fit? Id love to stay in a city and build a community but that is feeling less realistic to me as time goes on. Any one else stressed about this?
