Advice for Ureaplasma

Back story: I have tested positive for UU in the past, (treated with the doxycycline and moxi course). I am not sure if it failed or if i was reinfected, because after i felt much much better for a while.
But lo and behold symptoms return and i tested positive again.
This time i am treating with a week of twice daily 100mg doxy and followed by 1g azithro.
I am half way through the doxy and was feeling much much better, symptoms had really went completely away. But it’s like they are creeping back in.
My original symptoms:
green tinged discharge (no odor), unusual urine smell, sever internal vaginal itching, and sever pain and burning when peeing.
Symptoms that have returned:
Itch in the same place but not as severe, and some slight pain or burning AFTER i pee.

I would just like to know if this is normal, or if the treatment is failing. Just some advice because i am very discouraged. I have had ureaplasma for a long time with out realizing and its done some real damage. I had a laparoscopy which diagnosed me with the blocked fallopian tubes and scar tissue. I’m only 18. I want to knock this out for good and am determined.

Need Advice

A little back story: I tested positive for ureaplasma urealyticum in October 2025. My OBGYN prescribed me Doxy twice a day for seven days, and once completed Moxi for 7 days.

My original symptoms:

-yellow discharge
-itching right at vaginal opening
-burning when peeing
-urine smell
-pain with sex
-and pretty severe pelvic floor pain

I took the antibiotics (which worsened the symptoms so bad!) and abstained from sex and went to pelvic floor therapy. i finally gradually started getting better.
I retested in January 2026, and was negative!! everything was great most of my symptoms were completely gone, and i thought i kicked it. (one thing that might be good to mention, the yellow discharge never went away, but i’ve read that’s pretty common)

I actually ended my long term relationship in January and hadn’t been sexually active in a few months, but about two months ago the vaginal itching reappeared. It is right at the entrance/base area (perineum?). The itching is pretty severe and drives me crazy. I wonder if my PH balance was off so i took some probiotics and boric acid suppositories, and the itch went away. So i didn’t really give it much thought.

Well current day, i recently met someone new and did have sex. (He’s been tested for all STDs i made sure before hand) And the itching is back, full blast. I have the awful itch, burning when peeing, weird urine smell, and still yellow discharge.

I’m so sorry for the long post, but I would really appreciate some advice! Should i be retested? Could this just be residual symptoms/flairs of residual symptoms? If so how should I treat? Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you so much in advance!!
