Scared to start because of the “purge”

I’ve basically suffered with acne for 10 years (25 now) and have constantly put off starting accutane because of the fear of what I see online, it’s gotten to a point where I no longer fear the side affects but fear a purge. My acne is moderate on my face but quite severe on my jawline and neck.

In my work we can’t wear too much makeup so the thought of a purge all over my face honestly kills me. Is there anything I could do to prevent one? Is it guaranteed that it will happen? Has anyone had severe enough acne and didn’t purge at all?

Has anyone experienced night sweats?

I’ve been getting night sweats for over 2 years now, some months they’re pretty regular, some months they only happen for a few nights. Some are drenching, some are just waking up with my neck and chest sweaty.

I have huge health anxiety so this is a big worry for me, literally everything I see online about it leads to something really bad. I do find that the more I think about it, the more it happens, but I’m still reluctant to think that this can actually be caused by anxiety, it’s just crazy that it could cause such a big physical symptom.

I haven’t heard of anyone experiencing this and it actually being from anxiety alone, I’ve had lots of blood work done and everything came back fine so I’m even more confused/anxious.

Redness that looks like spots, but skin is flat

I have type 2, I use Azaelic acid and soolantra, I think they look after the pustules, but when the pustules are gone, without makeup, my skin is red where the pustules were, making me look like I have pimples/pustules, even though when I run my fingers across my skin it’s all completely flat, and with full coverage makeup on my skin looks great!

Does this happen to anyone else? What can I do to help?

What are the best brands of Azaelic acid

I’ve been using the ordinary AA,I feel like it is good but only gets my skin to about 50% better. Have other brands worked better for others?

I’ve tried skinoren 15% but I have to ease myself into it as my skin doesn’t tolerate it if I use it every day

Has anyone gotten good results from metronidazole?

I’m using azaelic acid and soolantra which helps with pustules but cannot get rid of the redness left behind from them, has anyone gotten relief when using all three? (AA, soolantra & metronidazole)

Does anyone have any recommendations to calm this? I’m literally willing to go out right now to get something to soothe it

I’m currently using la Roche posay toleraine cleanser, vanicream gentle cleanser and vanicream gentle daily moisturiser, 15% Azaelic acid, soolantra. Nothing seems to be working:(

I was using the ordinary 10% AA for about 9 months before switching to skinoren 15%, I feel like my face hasn’t been as good as it was with the 10%, although the 10% definitely didn’t make my skin perfect, the 15% almost seems to have set it back…

Has anyone tried BBL before? Is it any good?

I’ve tried soolantra, azaelic acid, etc (allergic to doxycycline unfortunately) and am literally out of options.

My routine is currently
A.M
vanicream gentle face wash
Vanicream daily moisturiser
Beauty of Josen spf

P.M
La Roche posay toleraine dermo cleanser (remove makeup)
Vanicream gentle facewash,
Skinoren 15% AA,
soolantra,
vanicream daily moisturiser

My skin was a lot worse before switching to the vanicream products which it has calmed down since.

Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated.
