I built a better way to control your Chromecast than the physical remote

Disclosure: I'm the developer of OmniRemote.

I got tired of using physical remotes for things like typing, navigating menus, and switching between apps, so I built OmniRemote to make the phone a more capable remote.

Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bluespacestudioz.omniRemote&pcampaignid=web_share

What you get

  • Automatic device discovery
  • Full D-pad navigation
  • Touchpad control
  • Phone keyboard for typing
  • Voice search
  • Volume and media controls
  • Quick Launch
  • Multiple devices saved
  • Wake-on-LAN

One thing I want to be transparent about: I don't personally own a Chromecast/Google TV device, so I haven't been able to test every part of the experience on real Chromecast hardware myself.

That's why I'm especially looking for Chromecast users to give it a try and tell me what works well and what doesn't.

If you try it, I'd really appreciate feedback on the connection, responsiveness, and overall experience. If something doesn't work, let me know your device/model and what happened so I can investigate it.
