Before anyone interprets this as me being ungrateful, I want to be clear: I am deeply grateful for the healers and the time they give. They take time out of their already busy lives to show up and serve others, and I have tremendous respect for that.

What I am questioning is something different: the data collection that seems to have become a business.

There were only 4 healers during my session, serving 3 healees. To me, that seems very, very low, especially when you consider the number of people involved and the amount of data being collected.

I am genuinely inquisitive about what people think about this.

the question I keep coming back to is:

So Is Joe doing this primarily to serve people, or is he using the people he calls “healers” to collect data?

People take time out of their busy lives to serve others. But does he genuinely mean to serve them in return—or has the relationship become more about collecting data that can ultimately be used as part of a business?

I’m not saying I know the answer. I’m genuinely curious about how others see it.

I have a question for people who have actually attended Dr. Joe’s retreats:

Are a lot of the people attending his retreats facing serious or life-threatening illness and looking for hope when conventional medicine hasn’t given them many options?

And if so, what role does Dr. Joe actually play for them?

Is it the meditation, the community, the possibility of changing their mindset — or is it the hope that maybe something is still possible when they feel like they’ve run out of options?

Here’s the part I’m genuinely struggling with:

How much of what is being sold at these retreats is actually new, and how much is ancient meditation, visualization, breathwork, mindfulness, and spiritual practice repackaged into a modern, expensive system?

These practices have existed across cultures for generations. Yet people who are desperate for healing may be willing to spend significant amounts of money on teachings and practices that, in various forms, have been freely shared for centuries.

That raises an uncomfortable question:

Is the transformation coming from the method itself, from the community and belief surrounding it, or from the hope that people attach to Dr. Joe as the person delivering it?

I’m not asking this to mock anyone who attends. I’m genuinely interested in hearing from people who have been there.

I work in finance, but I’ve been spending a lot more time coding lately and figured I’d see if anyone else is interested in getting together to work on projects, learn, or just stay motivated.

I’m thinking about starting a Monday night Zoom coding session where people can hop on, work on whatever they’re building, ask questions, or bounce ideas off each other. Nothing formal — just a low-key space to code with other people and share what we’re working on.

I’d also like to do an in-person meetup maybe once a month at a coffee shop somewhere in NYC or Queens. It would be nice to actually meet people, talk about projects, and have conversations outside of a screen.

I’m curious what everyone is working on — whether you’re learning your first language, building apps, automating things, getting into AI, or just trying to improve your skills.

Has anyone had a similar experience with CheckPeople?

The information I'm trying to remove still appears on the first page of Google search results. CheckPeople told me they've removed it, and when I search directly on their site, I can confirm it's gone.

However, Google continues to show the old result, even after it's been removed from CheckPeople. Has anyone else dealt with this? If so, how long did it take for Google to update or remove the listing, and is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for someone willing to do a small pro bono audio cleanup project for a meditation group.

The recordings were made using an Elgato microphone and have some popping noises that I'd like removed if possible. There are approximately 8 audio tracks, with a combined length of less than 10 minutes.

This is a volunteer project for our meditation community, so unfortunately we don't have a budget, but we'd be incredibly grateful for any help or guidance.
