HabiStat Digital Dimming Thermostat won’t set night temperature below 32°C and isn’t powering my DHP

Hi everyone,

I’m having some issues with my HabiStat Digital Dimming Thermostat (Day/Night + Timer) and I’m hoping someone can help.

I want to set it up like this:
Day temperature: 31–32°C
Night temperature: 27°C
Day: 06:00–20:00
Night: 20:00–06:00

The problem is that I cannot set the night temperature below 32°C. Whenever I try to lower it below 32°C, it immediately jumps back to 50°C.

I’m also having another issue: the thermostat shows that it is sending power to the heater (the heat icon is showing/flashing), but my Arcadia DHP isn’t producing any heat when connected to the thermostat.

I tested the DHP in a different wall socket and it works perfectly, so the DHP itself is definitely working.

I have also already replaced the fuse in the HabiStat, but that didn’t solve the issue.
Has anyone experienced this with the HabiStat Digital Dimming Thermostat? Am I missing a setting, or does this sound like the thermostat is faulty?
If this thermostat is known to be unreliable, is there a better thermostat you would recommend for an Arcadia DHP and a ball python enclosure?

Im also in a rush to set up the enclosure because it has to be finished by Wednesday because ima pick up my first ball python

Thanks in advance!

Where to put a thermostat probe (DHP)

Where should I place my thermostat probe for a DHP?
Hey everyone!
I’m setting up a PVC enclosure for my ball python and I’m using an Arcadia 80W Deep Heat Projector (DHP) with a habistat dimming thermostat.

I’m a bit confused about the best placement for the thermostat probe.

I’ve seen people recommend placing it a few inches below the DHP, but I’d really appreciate advice from experienced ball python keepers.

Thanks! 🙏

(I’m on a bit of a time crunch because I need to finish the enclosure within a day😅.)

Looking for a large climbing branch for my ball python enclosure (120x60x60 cm) Netherlands 🇳🇱

Hello everyone!

I’m setting up a 120x60x60 cm enclosure for my ball python and I’m looking for a large, thick natural branch that can go through most of the enclosure.

I’m looking for something like:
Grapevine wood
Cork branch
Manzanita
Any other strong natural wood

Ideal size:
Length: 100–120 cm (40–48 inches)
Thickness: around 8–15 cm (3–6 inches)

I live in the Netherlands, and I’ve been searching for a large branch, but most reptile shops only sell smaller pieces (around 50–60 cm). I’ve looked at Exo Terra Forest Branches, but they seem too small for the size of my enclosure.

Does anyone know a good shop (preferably in the Netherlands or Europe) where I can buy a large branch? Or does anyone have another idea for a big climbing structure?

Pictures of your setups are very welcome as well to give me some ideas!

Thanks!
