Taskful Day update + Pro codes for r/iosapps (the another task app)

Quick disclosure: yes, this is another to-do app. I know how saturated this category is. But I built Taskful Day specifically because every productivity app I tried felt like it was yelling at me, red overdue badges, broken streaks, charts that went down when life happened. So I made a calm one.

Today's the milestone I've been working toward: Apple Watch support just shipped. Taskful Day already ran on iPhone, iPad, and Mac with iCloud sync, so now your day lives on every Apple device you own. To celebrate I'm running a promo for r/iosapps through the end of the week.

What makes it different from the 200 other to-do apps:

  • Four ways to see your day. Swipe between a clean editorial list, a 24-hour Clock face, an Energy River that maps focus and category, and a Day Map that lays your time out as a single composition. Different views for different brains.
  • Guilt-free rollover. Unfinished tasks move forward quietly. No red overdue badges. No analytics card titled "what you failed to do." You decide whether each task comes with you.
  • On-device voice capture. Say "call dentist tomorrow at 2" and it parses correctly. Nothing gets sent to a server. The NLP runs on your phone.
  • Mood as a first-class signal. The Journal isn't a separate room. Mood entries quietly feed Analytics, so you see things like "your Wednesdays have felt the steadiest" instead of yet another streak counter.
  • Focus Orbit. Single-task immersive view with a Pomodoro-style timer for the moments that need it.
  • Apple Watch + iPhone + iPad + Mac. Glance-and-go on Watch, sidebar and keyboard shortcuts on iPad, full canvas on Mac. Synced through your own iCloud, not my servers.
  • Calm analytics. Weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly patterns. Presented gently. No streak shaming, no judgment.

Privacy: No analytics SDKs. No third-party login. No account required. iCloud sync is optional. Voice, NLP, mood. All on-device.

The app is free forever for the editorial list, basic analytics, voice capture, journal, and inbox. Pro unlocks the Clock, River, Map, Focus Orbit, full analytics, workspaces, and every theme.

Pro codes

• Yearly $24.99 → $9.99

• Lifetime $39.99 → $19.99

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6757345400

Would love to hear what you think about it, or what you’d want to see next. Feature requests in the comments are more than welcome.

Observa update + Pro codes for r/iosapps (the app that picks up where Apple Health stops)

About a month back I posted here about Observa. It’s an app that turns your Apple Health data into insights you can actually act on instead of just numbers on a screen. Feedback from this sub was the best part of launching, so I’ve been shipping updates based on the feedback since.

Version 1.5.1 just dropped with a full chart redesign. Cleaner, easier to read, and you can spot trends. To celebrate I’m running a promo for r/iosapps this week only.

What Observa does (quick recap on some of the features):

• Readiness score: built from HRV, resting HR, sleep quality, and training load. Shows you exactly which signals are pulling it up or down vs. your baseline.

• Sleep analysis: score, stages, efficiency, debt, consistency. Scored the way a sports scientist would, not just hours in bed.

• Stress & heart signals: RMSSD, pNN50, autonomic balance, ECG-based insights when available.

• Correlation engine: Analyzes weeks of your data to find real associations (how training affects your sleep, how sleep affects next-day HR, which habits actually move the needle).

• Home Screen widgets for recovery, sleep, heart, weekly stress, and insights.

• 100% on-device. No account, no cloud, no tracking, no ads. Your data never leaves your phone.

Reads straight from Apple Health, no extra wearable needed.

Pro codes

Yearly: $22.99 → $9.99

Lifetime: $69.99 → $19.99

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6757438990

App itself is free. Pro unlocks 30/90/180-day trends, full correlation engine, all widgets, and deeper analysis.

Would love to hear what you think of the new charts, or what you’d want to see next. Feature requests in the comments are more than welcome.

A calm chess trainer that explains why your moves are bad — would love feedback

Hey r/chessindia,

Like a lot of you I got pulled back into chess after the Gukesh / Pragg run, playing way more blitz on Chess.com and Lichess, rating going up and down, and honestly not really understanding why I was losing. The post-game review on those sites is fine, but it mostly tells me "this was a blunder, -3.4." Cool.

Why did I play it? What kind of position do I keep messing up? Nobody tells me that.

So over the last few months I built Chessful, an iOS app that's basically the post-game coach I wanted for myself. It's not a place to play chess — there's already Lichess and Chess.com for that and they're great. Chessful only does one thing: take your games, run Stockfish 18 fully on-device (no servers, nothing leaves your phone), and turn the analysis into something a human can actually act on.

A few things it tries to do differently:

  • Pattern detection across games, not just one. So instead of "blunder on move 24," it'll tell you stuff like "you keep dropping pieces in the same kind of tactical position" or "your endgame conversion drops sharply when you're up a pawn." That's the part I care about most.
  • Adaptive daily training based on those patterns — short puzzle sets aimed at the weaknesses it actually finds in your games, not generic tactics.
  • Calm UI on purpose. No streaks shouting at you, no rating anxiety, no ads. Dark theme, slow pace. I wanted the opposite of doomscrolling bullet.
  • Privacy-first, no account. Everything is local. No login, no cloud sync of your games unless you want it.

It's especially aimed at the 800–1800 range — newcomers and improvers who've outgrown "learn the rules" content but aren't ready to hire a coach. Free tier gives you one full game analysis per day which is honestly enough to start spotting your own patterns.

App Store link if you want to poke at it: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6761336870

What I actually want from this post:

I'm an indie dev, no marketing team, and this sub knows Indian chess culture and the improver mindset way better than I do. So what I am asking:

  1. For someone climbing from, say, 1000 to 1500 — what's the one thing that helped you most? Is it tactics, openings, endgames, game review, coaching? I want to know if I'm pointing the app at the right problem.
  2. What's missing that would make you actually use something like this instead of just Lichess analysis?
  3. Anything that feels gimmicky or over-promised from the description above?

I'd rather hear it now.

Thanks

There's this feeling I kept coming back to.

The 4 months before a trip you've been saving for. The Tuesday you find out a baby is on the way. The 73 days until the wedding. The flight home to see your parents.

The waiting is part of the moment. And I felt like every "countdown app" out there treated it like a stopwatch. A number on a grey screen, when really, it's one of the most quietly emotional feelings we have.

So I made Soon.

You pick the moment. You add a photo: the beach you're flying to, the ultrasound, the venue, your dog. The whole thing becomes a full-bleed living card on your phone, with the live weather pulled in from wherever you're going. Watching the forecast for your trip slowly come into range is honestly one of my favorite small things in the app.

A few things that I think make it different:

  • Plan mode; every countdown ships with its own smart timeline and checklist. "Book transport 30 days before." "Pack the essentials 3 days out." "Confirm the rings the week of." So the date doesn't sneak up on you. You arrive ready, not panicked.
  • Widgets for every screen; Home Screen, Lock Screen, StandBy. Small, medium, large, ring, minimal, timeline. The medium widget with the photo + weather + days left is the one I check 10 times a day.
  • Memories; when an event passes, it doesn't just disappear. It quietly returns on every anniversary so the moment never fades.
  • Calendar sync; turn any iOS Calendar event into a countdown in one tap.
  • Natural search; "trips in July," "birthdays this month," "anniversaries in 2027." It just works.
  • 39 languages, fully localized.

Pricing:

  • Free forever: 5 events, 1 pinned widget, 3 themes, calendar import, memories. Genuinely usable, not a teaser.
  • Premium Monthly: $1.99
  • Premium Yearly: $14.99
  • Premium Lifetime: $34.99

Premium unlocks unlimited events, all widget styles, 10 premium themes, weather intelligence, daily notes, recurring events, and event notifications.

Requires iOS 17.6+. No data collection, Apple verified, the app doesn't collect anything.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6757280643

If you give it a try, I would like to hear what moment you pinned first.

ONE SMALL ASK

If you try it and it genuinely helps your chess, a short App Store review would mean the world. I'm a solo dev and every rating directly shapes where the app ranks. If it's missing something or has a bug, tell me here and I'll fix it.
