i'm actually getting pissed off at this

My mom doesn't let me shave because she thinks the hair grows back thicker. whether or not that's true, i don't want to have to shave multiple times a week to keep it under control. so my mom gave me a spring-like object to pluck the hair off my face, but that didn't work well and it was too painful to do it so slowly. i then got an epilator to use on my body and face, and while it works great for my body, it's just so fainful on the face, especially on and around the upper lip. so just yesterday, i got wax strips thinking maybe i should just wax my face and use the epilator and wax on my body. and omg idk if it's the company or the way i did it, but the wax barely pulled anything. one entire cheek is open, the wax got stuck on my side burns and chin and my jaw, and I can't use the cleansing oil wipes bc my skin is sensitive and i get really bad acne putting oil on immediately after waxing. i just don't know what to do because i can't afford anything like laser or electrolysis, but i can't seem to make waxing work either.

Should I dorm or commute starting second yr?

I'll be dorming this year, but I don't want to starting soph year since it's really expensive. My parents want me to since they want me to have the full college experience and be independent, which i agree with, but housing and meals is literally half of the entire term bill. The reason I can't make a decision is because I'm a business major so i assume being on campus would make networking a lot easier. But is that true?

Like if I were to get a scholarship that could cover at least half of the net cost, that's great I would continue dorming, but if not, I would genuinely consider commuting. I just want to know that if I were to commute as a business major, would it put me at a disadvantage for certain opportunities in terms of networking, club events, job opportunities, etc? I'm perfectly okay driving at night, I've done it a bunch of times and my parents would be okay with me not coming back home between classes or staying later for like club events and stuff.

When's the best time to take First Year seminars?

I really want to take one of the FIGS seminars, but are they more useful to take in the first or second semester? I understand them to be more of a networking opportunity with upperclassmen and to learn about what rutgers has to offer to students.

Also, if i were to add one now, would it be considered a "big adjustment to my schedule" that would require me to meet with my advisor before I add anything.

And how much of a commitment are they? I'm ok with doing a simple assignment per week, but anything more than that doesn't make sense for the number of credits I'm getting.

Finally, if I were to take one of these seminars, which one should i take and will give me a lot of good info if I'm majoring in finance & scm?

sorry if this was long but i really wanted to answers to these qs without needing to make new posts. thanks!

When do we get textbooks for classes?

i'm an incoming freshman and I'm worried about what textbooks I need to get for the fall. When do we get info about what we need for each class and when do people usually start buying them? Where do i buy them too? at the barnes and nobles or get them second hand on some site? I really don't want to spend full price on these textbooks, so are there sites that have pdfs of these textbooks for free?
For reference, I'm taking intro to supply chain management, stats for business, intro to entrepreneurship, intro to environmental science, and us labor and work.

And ofc, I'd love to chat and get to know others who aren't in the llc too! I'm really excited for the fall and want to meet as many people as possible
