Why the library escalator can't be used as stairs

I always see people complaining about how they close off the escalator instead of using it as stairs here's some reasons why:

The steps of an escalator are bigger than usual making it more likely to trip
If you do trip you fall on hard metal steps with sharp edges
Even more your will fall all the way to the bottom as there's no landing part way up to catch you like the normal stairs next to it.
Some cheap escalators have cheap af parking brakes and could fail if there's someone on every step, Vertasium has a good video on this
It has to be unoccupied for if TKE ever shows up and they sometimes need to leave the access hatches open

My Hobby NCA-2 Receives but Seems to Not Send Any Data to My NFS-320

Hello super smart fire alarm techs on the internet,

I bought a used "newer" NFS-320 witch is just a CPU2-640 with the LEM port turned off and when it arrived it had firmware V12 but I got someone to update it to V29. My NCA-2 had a V17 sticker, but the same guy got it to V33. And when updating the NCA-2 we had to remove the CMOS battery while it's off to get the NCA to generate a default V33 database since VFT wasn't able to change the node number leading to it refusing to download a v33 database.

However, the NCA-2 (Node 2) connected directly NUP to NUP to the NFS-320 (Node 1) is essentially read only. Every menu that is associated with Node 1's database gives a node offline message or a no information available. Pressing acknowledge, silence, reset, and drill on the NCA-2 the screen does confirm the command, but nothing happens to the 320. Disconnecting the NUP cable does give a NCM COMM trouble on both nodes witch sometimes restores, if not then typing RESET into the password on both nodes gets them to "communicate" gain. The KDM-R2 is still connected and fully functional if that matters.

However, my ACM-24AT connected to the 320 does fully work. Is there some weird network setting we are missing in VFT? I would preferably not buy a pair of NCM-W s. Currently brainstorming ideas before I see the guy I know again, but it could be possible that this issue was why the NFS-320 or the NCA-2 was taken out of service.

Update: I discovered changing the time on the NCA-2 also changes the 320's time. So, some data is getting sent back to the main CPU.
