Today I was asked to complete a 45-minute glorified personality test prior to scheduling an interview. They’re offering $17/hr.

I work in a niche branch of healthcare, and have been trying to escape a bad situation at my current job. I have over 6 years of experience in this field and hold an additional certification as well. Today, I received this email:

“Thank you for applying at [our company]. We appreciate your interest in joining our team.
The next required and important step in our hiring process is to complete the WonScore employee assessment. Please use the link below to get started: [link]

WonScore will assess three areas:
Cognitive Ability – your ability to learn, adapt, and solve problems
Motivation – your personal work drivers
Personality – your natural tendencies in the workplace

We encourage you to dedicate focused, uninterrupted time to complete the assessment thoughtfully, as it plays a key role in our interview selection process. Most candidates complete this assessment in about 45 minutes.
Once completed, we will then review your results and follow up with you within five business days.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this important part of our hiring process. We look forward to learning more about you.

Best Regards,

[Practice Manager].”

Please note that I have removed identifying details, but the rest is copy/pasted verbatim. To say I’m shocked and disgusted at their audacity is an understatement. I’ll interview with companies who actually value my time instead.

Same dress, 50 lbs apart

50 lbs down since January and counting! I’m beyond grateful for this drug. It’s amazing to finally be taking some progress pics and be able to really see the difference side-by-side like this!

10 days PO: I ate a burger last night! 🥳

I had my surgery on Monday, 7/27, and have been slowly weaning myself off bland foods. So far I’ve tried coffee, ice cream, and finally last night, a juicyyyy burger without any issues. 🤤 It was the best thing I’ve ever tasted!

Overall I’m healing well, and tolerating the residual soreness with alternating ibuprofen and Tylenol. The first few days were rough, but each day has been a little easier than the last.

Just wanted to share some hope for the rest of you all. I’ve had many surgical complications in the past, so I know firsthand that they can and DO occur. Just so relieved that everything is going well! It’s a nice reminder that sometimes, best-case scenario is possible, too. ❤️

PCP Recommendations?

I’ve been using Primary Health for the past few years but am fed up with the support staff at any of their locations. Can anyone recommend a caring and helpful PCP’s office somewhere in the valley to give a try?

Bonus points if they’re willing to Rx compounded GLP-1s. TIA!

First time making sorbet 😁 raspberry edition

I paused making ice cream while I recover from gallbladder surgery, which means a low-fat diet and NO ice cream. 😩

So I made this fat-free raspberry sorbet for my recovery period and it’s delicious. And it was so easy! I’m hooked!

Currently 4 days post-op—when did you start to feel human again?

Title. I know 4 days is so early in the grand scheme of things, but I’m tired of being so tired and sore all the time, and I have to go back to work next week. Curious what everyone else’s experience was returning to normal after surgery!

Had my surgery today! What’s one thing that made post-op easier for you?

Title. Currently at home resting and eating bland foods. Would love to hear any advice or words of encouragement. Feeling hopeful, but tired and sore right now. 🤞

How do I survive until my surgery date?

I have textbook gall stones after rapid weight loss on a GLP-1. My gallbladder removal surgery is scheduled for 7/31/26, in over two weeks, and is the soonest any surgeon could operate on me in my area.

This morning was my third attack in the span of 12 days. Each episode has been getting worse—more painful, and lasting longer. This morning was 45 minutes of absolute debilitating pain.

My question is, how do I survive these next two weeks? I’ve already switched my diet to be extremely low-fat in the meantime, and have ordered a heat pack. What has helped everyone else? 😞

My mom has had gallstones and swears by the cleanses, while I’m skeptical at best. Drinking olive oil and grapefruit juice sounds absolutely appalling, but at this point I’m desperate and in so much pain. This morning’s attack left me with a lingering ache, nausea, and fatigue; I feel like I’ve been hit by a train. So worried about my ability to work and support myself financially through this.

Any and all advice is appreciated. ❤️‍🩹

Most efficient way to zest citrus?

Found this guy called the Zip Zester, which is exactly the idea I had in mind, but unfortunately they are discontinued and hard to come by. What’s the easiest way y’all have found to zest citrus as fast as possible?

Today I fit into a size L pants!!

I started on compounded tirzepatide mid-January of this year at a starting weight of 295 lbs. Just over 5 months and 23 injections later, I’ve already lost over 45 pounds and counting!

The body dysmorphia has been very real. Logically I know that my clothes are looser and the number on the scale has decreased, but I still look in the mirror and see me in my 295 pound body. Seeing my own progress pics side by side is insane though! The “before” picture was taken in March when I’d already lost 21 lbs and bought a size L pair of goal pants. There’s only a 24 pound difference between these two photos, but it’s crazy how much I can see it now—especially in my belly and even my face. I can’t imagine how much more drastic it would be if I’d taken true “before” photos when I’d started out. I used to wear a size 4X scrub pants just last year! 😳

Moral of the story, take those progress pics! I can’t wait to keep posting updates as I continue to shrink. 😁

Does anyone sell straight from their kitchen under Cottage Law?

I am in Idaho for context. Idaho’s recently updated cottage law (March ‘26) vaguely implies that milk and dairy products are allowed to be sold direct-to-consumer. I’ve tried to reach out to the local health offices to get more info, but have yet to get a response. Just curious if anyone else is familiar with this change or has sold their own homemade ice cream under their own state’s Cottage Law.

TIA!

Macerated fruit: chill or freeze before mixing in?

Title says it all. I usually freeze my mix-ins before adding during the last minute of churning, but I read on a recipe I used yesterday that it was best to chill my macerated fruit mix-ins (in this instance, cherries) before adding them. Curious what y’all do and what your takes are on this!

Quick look not loading photos suddenly?

My photo sorter shortcut will sometimes load and actually display the photo with quick look, but then lately it’s just been showing the name of the photo and nothing I’ve tried to fix it will work.

Please help!!

Custard vs Philly bases: which do you prefer, and why?

Looking for some insights. I love the texture and richness that custards offer, but am a little sick of “forging” eggs (as my partner puts it). 😅

Has anyone had luck using replacement stabilizers/emulsifiers such as xanthan gum or soy lecithin? Looking for input and recommendations here as well.

Thanks all!

I’m interested in trying candied citrus peels in an ice cream recipe, such as candied orange peel pieces in a chocolate orange ice cream recipe.

Has anyone tried this before and if so, how did it turn out? Looking for flavor combo suggestions as well as a good candied peel recipe if anyone has any recommendations! Thanks!
