Gap between Gold and Master is discouraging
Few hours left in the week, and i'm in dead last place in my group in Master IV, set to be demoted. I get absolutely wrecked by virtually anyone I come across. I study meta, I've learned enough to get into Master but now that I'm here I feel like the worst player in the history of the game. An Arbitrary Rural World is a truly difficult map that makes me feel like it's my first day ever playing this game. Round after round, people look at the same picture of leaves that I'm looking at and just somehow know exactly what tiny region of the world those leaves come from. In Gold tier I played very well, beat a lot of players, felt like I was learning the game, felt like I was actually good. Came into Master rated around 700. I've done nothing but lose all week, now at 430. Lose to anyone rated above me and somehow lose to tons of people in the 300s. Can't even understand the meta people are using to destroy me. Feels like there could be a little more balancing between Gold and Master. Anyone else feel the same? Am I just a bad player who grinded his way into Master without deserving to be there?
