Audi S3

Hi all,

I have a 2016 Audi S3 Quattro (71k miles)

I'm hearing a whirring noise when driving that has been gradually getting louder. Id say its there almost all the time but I do hear it most when I take my foot off the accelator and coast a bit. Its an automatic with DSG gearbox.

Ive just picked it up from the garage and they're saying it's likely the transfer box for the 4wd system that is making the noise. They couldnt be 100% certain that it wasn't the wheel bearing so they replaced it but no change in sound.

The noise is coming from the rear and i hear it more on the left side.

Does anyone have any experience with noises from transfer box? Is it worth replacing (£3.5k new!! Although can get 2nd hand one) or is it just part and parcel now that the car is older? I really don't want it to break completely leaving the car undrivable but I dont know if this is likely or not hence looking for advice!

Thanks!

S3 needs new shock absorber HELP!

Hi all.

Im UK based with a 2016 audi s3. Had some knocking from the front right and been told by the garage the shock absorber needs replaced. My s3 has magnetic ride. The garage has quoted me just over £600 for the part alone. Im assuming genuine Audi part.

Does anyone know if any aftermarket shock absorbers would work with the mag ride? Im only replacing the right side so unsure if it would matter if each side was different.

Help please! ☺️

Offer agreed but seller used Help to Buy

Hello,

Ive had an offer agreed on a property id like to buy (Scotland).

The offer is £22,000 below the valuation. My solicitor has found out that the sellers used the Help to Buy scheme and will be owe a percentage of the sale to the government. Apparently because it is being sold for less than the valuation, the seller has to write an appeal or something. Seller never mentioned this to me during negotiations. They have left the country and I think they just want rid of the house.

Has anyone had experience with this? Will it still go ahead? Likely to be delayed a lot?

Thanks.
