Seedlings to today

So pleased with how far they have come and how well they compliment my monster tomato plant. I just picked up these seeds on a whim and they’re turning into one of my favorite plants!

Demon Copperhead- can’t reach this high

Since I finished this book, everything pales in comparison. I tried a few books by the same author and didn’t finish. I tried going back to thrillers, but they all seem so terribly written and unsatisfying.

Usually, I run through books and by the next day, I couldn’t tell you what each was about. With demon copperhead, I cannot stop thinking about it and talking about it.

Please give me suggestions for something else to rope me in like this. Another favor of mine is Angela‘s ashes; I saw some similarities with the humor in terrible situations.

Help with pest ID

Does anyone know what these are? They completely decimated the one cucumber plant I put on the ground. The cucumber plants I have on a bookcase type shelf are fine & other vegetable plants on the ground are fine. I’ve gotten rid of this, but worried it will spread and wondering how I can treat preventively/at early signs

Gorgeous Emerging Colors!

These little seedlings are changing so much every week. I’m excited to get so much variety in colors and formation & can’t wait to see how they turn out!

I’ve been jealous of all the more mature plants this community shares, but trying to enjoy the process of growing from seeds.

Top Sterile Soil (no bugs)

I read a recent post that miracle grow is known for having fungus gnat eggs. Any brands that have a good reputation for no larvae/eggs? I have been baking my soil before repotting and use a systemic as well as mosquito bits, but with so many plants, I’m still noticing some fungus gnats. I haven’t been able to re-pot everything so I still have some store-bought & un-baked soil in the house.

The mosquito bits are also annoying because I constantly need to have a container of them soaking, and then need to try to scoop out all the bits before watering. Just ordered mosquito dunks & a strainer spoon.

I also do a lot of on the whim re- potting & would rather not need to keep a tray of soil on my stove top

Seedling Update

Update from this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/coleus/s/0H7uIPsRUG

I separated each plant and put six in two-inch nursery pots and two each in a few four-inch nursery pots. Threw out the rest.

Thanks for all the feedback and excited to see how they do. Thinking about putting some outside eventually though I’d planned for them to stay indoors.

Next steps for seedlings?

I have these grown from seeds & can’t find clear advice about what to do next.

Do they need to be up potted in stages or can they go into a final pot size now?

Will I need to untangle each plant/cull some or can I plant them together like this for something more full?

If a deeper pot is not recommended yet, could I use a wide shallow pot to keep them together?

Hardening off & pest control

Worried to start hardening off because I have a lot of indoor plants and dont want to introduce any pests inside.

Any advice?

Basement plants

Had zero plants a few months ago. Became a bit obsessed but slowing down with adding anything new as I don’t have any more space! Low light basement so they all have grow lights on them.

They bring me so much joy!
