How do you make pickups sound natural?

90% of the time when I do pickups they don't flow with the rest of the chapter and it's obvious it's a pickup unless it's a character voice. So how do I make sure the pitch is correct and that it flows? Should I record a paragraph involving the pickup to get into the groove of things so that it sounds seamless? Any help is welcome and thank you in advance!

What did it take for you to start booking PFH projects?

I've been looking around for tips on booking a pfh. As of now, I've been doing this for a little over a year and I'm just curious. I've booked Royalty Share Plus and Royalty Share books and I've come close to booking pfh projects a few times, so I was wondering if you all have any tips or stories.

Thank you in advance!

Like the title, I just need recommendations for a book in English that features Egpytian accents. I'm not very picky. Thank you in advance!

I tried looking this up, but couldn't find a picture of what I mean. Basically, my audio waveforms used to be different colors through a track. If I took a breath, it'd be yellow, etc. When I'd save a track, the colors would change as I spoke. If I got loud, it'd be yellow and orange. I'm not sure if it's spectral or not. I just want the colors of the audio waveforms back because it's easier for me when I edit.
