Sister refuses to sign for Spanish probate,
Our farther passed away 20 years ago Murcia region Spain. He left a will leaving a paid off flat and a bank account, I was not privy to the full balance amount. To go 3 children. My sister had access to the account and transferred €15000 each to me and my brother (British) my brother has said he has no intention of ever going to Spain so will settle to 20k and not contest the will. I have kept up with maintenance paid all bills and taxes up to date over this time. Around 50k
We had a lawyer to handle the probate back in the day, but my sister refused to sign for probate. This leaves me with a problem as we can't start the inheritance process. Lawyer stated nothing they could do.
20 years on, surly there must be a way round this. Flat value is around €110.000 I would prefer not going down a legal route of at all if possible. Any advice will be welcome.
