Most recent American Fork viral video

Hay yall, have you see the most recent video from lack luster about bad policing from the American Fork police department? It has nothing to do withe Reckless Ben, its completely local mostly focused on their Sgt Goodale being a bullying tyrant to a local man.

The events in the video were bad enough the chief had to apologize twice and wound up getting rid of him.

But you know that old saying, a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch. And AFPD is corrupted to the core.

The state of Utah needs yo investigate them, but then we all know what happens when cops investigate other cops.

Pot co-ops

So are there any pot co-ops in your area?

They are explicitly illegal here in Washington. Or rather they are absurdly limited and only available to medical users (or commercial agriculture).

Co-ops are the least exploitive ways of doing business, theyre a pain to manage and financing is a nightmare but employee owned ones are the best type of place to work

A response to some concelrns about solvents

My Brother in Ganga, I urge you to spend some time with chemists or even better a chemical engineer. Im not (which is why I direct you towards one) but I have taken quite a few classes and think you are operating with some misapprehensions.

To make concentrates you start with the herb and break it into parts. You remove the parts (the plant materiel as you call it) you dont want and "concentrate" the rest.

Lots of was to do that, the main ways are mechanically, chemically, or thermally. Thermally is rarely used alone because it breaks apart the organic molecules (THC, CBD, terpenes, etc) but if you set up an oxygen free still and are acutely careful with temperature you can fractionally distill perfect lab grade "concentrates".

That is a pain in the ass.

Mechanical (or technically micro-mechanical) concentration is the bags. You grind it up and filter through your bags (kif). Works fine but leaves a lot of desired product on the works so it helps a lot to use a solvent to wash that off. There are a lot of solvents you can use, water, oil, butane, etc. they all have pluses and minus.

Water doesnt dissolve THC or most cannabinoid, so it is more off a fluid mechanical seperator.

Butane is an organic (made of carbon) solvent, and the advantage of organic solvents is they stick to cannabinoids. You just run it through a filter and the unwanted stuff is left behind. The bad part is they stick to cannaminoids, getting rid of them can be tricky. They also allow odd chemical bonds to form because when they stick they change the valence of the target molecule.

Im getting too geek.

What I originally came here to say is if you want the best concentrate look for CO2 extracts. Liquid CO2 is an amazing solvent, it liberates what we want from the plant really well, forms minimalside products and the best part is when you are done you just lower the pressure so the CO2 turns back into a gas and bubbles out of your concentrate like a soda going flat.

I am uncomfortable with organic solvents but CO2 is the shit.

PotTubers

Who are the youtubers who do content about pot that you watch?

I can only come up with two off the top of my head the.

Tom Powell Jr, white haired deadhead who does a lot of short content on society, politics, culture, and whatever else atrikes him. He frequently smokes on camera and is very clear about his fondness for ganga.

StonerGump, middle aged guy with an Alabama(?) accent that talks about heavy pot usage. He is very funny and gives good advice.

I guess rogan might count but I refuse to watch that right wing sycophant.

US Supreme Court allows pot smokers to get their gun on

The Supreme Court unanimously ruled that occasional use of Marijuana is insufficient reason to deny someone their second amendment rights.

Heavy Edibles

So I am a pretty heavy user, i go through a gram cartridge a week or so. But vaping seems to have given me a persistent cough so Ive been exploring edibles. The experience is different and ive been trying to calibrate.

I find it takes at least 100mg of esibles to get high, 150 to get truly stoned. The thing is once I eat that much I get the munchies and then fall asleep, usually for a good 12 hours.

Ive tried eating more slowly (over several hours) and I dont get as high but I dont tump over as much.

Any suggestions on how to get higher withou falling asleep?

Battery Power

I was reading some stuff about the BESS facility in Arlington and it seems like there is some opposition associated with it?

Anyone know what the objections are? After reading about I literally cant find anything objectional in the program.

Our biggest electrical problem by far is tying in new projects to the existing grid. This makes it easier, particularly is we can get some offshore wind up here.

Howdy folkies,

Are any of you cellular biochemists who study how cannabinoid activation pathways work (or wish you were)?

Can you cite some good papers on the biochemistry of THC metabolism?

Tnx.
