What are your thoughts on photocatalysis?
The field of photocatalysis has been developing and attracting significant attention for decades, since Fujishima and Honda demonstrated in 1972 that TiO₂ could split water under ultraviolet light. Since then, photocatalysis has been explored extensively for applications ranging from environmental remediation to energy conversion, but its large-scale commercial applications still seem relatively limited, with self-cleaning glass being one example I could find.
Is photocatalysis still a worthwhile field to pursue? Do you think photocatalysis ever achieve large-scale commercialization?
