UK economy grew by 0.4%, does this mean Burnham’s about to poll even higher?

Fresh ONS data shows the UK economy grew by 0.4% between April and June. That puts us ahead of most other G7 countries this year despite the Iran war and all the political drama around Starmer’s resignation.

Do people here think this growth will push Burnham even higher in the polls? What are everyone's thoughts on this news?

Is there an active local subreddit for people from Bury?

I've been searching around but haven't had much luck finding any active local subreddits for Bury. I know it's quite local, so maybe Reddit just doesn't have the same hyper-local communities that Facebook groups have..... Anyone here know of any active subreddits for Bury worth joining?

Is there an active local subreddit for people from Bury (Greater Manchester area)?

I've been searching around but haven't had much luck finding any active local subreddits for Bury, Greater Manchester. I know Bury is quite local, so maybe Reddit just doesn't have the same hyper-local communities that Facebook groups tend to have. Anyone here know of any active subreddits for Bury, or even other wider Manchester communities (not just the r/manchester one) that are worth joining?

Reform: I would rather vote for Jimmy Saville than Labour

This is utterly tasteless, repugnant and beneath any serious political party. Reform UK should be embarrassed. Jimmy Savile wasn't a meme or a political prop. He was one of Britain's worst serial sex abusers!

Whatever your views on Labour, turning his crimes into a campaign stunt undermines the suffering of his victims!

Do these people even know who Jimmy Saville was or what he did?

Fall behind on council tax and the system basically goes, now pay all of it immediately, I knew council tax debt was rough, but not this rough!

Apparently if you were to miss a few payments (because life happens!) councils can cancel your instalment plan and demand the full year’s bill in one go.

It’s “pay the entire year now or we escalate” if someone has missed a few months payments how are they supposed to pay a year's bill upfront?

This is finally changing! It's a great win which I haven't been seeing talked about much so thought I'd post here.
