Cocktail bars in London

Hello!

I am in the middle of planning a hen do for one of my friends and a cocktail bar is something on the list.

We love a fun theme (her hen is Celtic themed so anything relatable will be fabulous)

But taking on some good suggestions would be appreciated!!

Kitten won’t stop licking

I’m a new cat owner, I still am learning a lot of behaviours - but my sweet little kitten is OBSESSED with licking me.

When I pet him, he licks my hands. When we are settling down at night, he licks my face.

I wake up in the middle of the night to him pawing my face and licking my face.

It’s really cute (it eventually starts to hurt if he does the same place over and over again) but I guess I want to understand why?

It’s mostly me, he gives licks to my partner but he doesn’t go to him in bed, or wake him at night with it or sit directly in his face to give licks.

Cat proof balconies

Hello!

I live on the 2nd floor with a balcony which I want to make it safe for my kitten to go into as it is very warm in our flat (and we are in the middle of a heatwave so I’m really eager to get it done quick)

I was wondering if anyone had any inspiration? I was thinking of tension poles and cat safe netting, but I’m worried it might not work.

Please advise! Also have a very crappy picture of my balcony just to show how it looks.

Kitten Behaviours

So it’s officially been a week since I brought my sweet little guy home.

He’s 12 weeks and so sweet! I’ve loved every second of his presence, but as someone who has not grown up around cats I have a lot of behaviours to learn.

The last couple of days I’ve been woke up to his zoomies and him chomping down on my feet / hands. He will go from biting (not hard) to licking (he spent a good 10 minutes licking my face all over) I know this is a form of play? But how do I know what is an acceptable boundary with the biting as I don’t want to take away from how cats instinctively play (please correct me if I am wrong too).

Also, he only does this to me, not my partner. He lets him sleep peacefully whilst I am the toy of choice at 6am.

New kitten!

I just adopted this little one(11 weeks), he was advertised and his vet records says he’s a domestic long hair.

I’ve had several people tell me he might have Maine coon in his mix, or ask me if he was a main coon - What does everyone think?

Culture shock in Shanghai! Has anyone else experienced this?

So, I felt like I did quite a bit of research before I did a week in Shanghai, and don’t get me wrong I had a fabulous time, but I was genuinely taken back by these things, and they are the reason I can’t see myself returning to Shanghai.

  1. spitting / phlegming - I was absolutely gobsmacked by the constant sound of people hocking up phlegm and spitting. I watched people spit INSIDE coffee shops and shopping centers.

  2. The open burping / farting - again, I felt like o heard this more than I ever have. Just my flight over to Guangzhou the woman behind me burped at least 50 times.

  3. The nose picking - I felt like too many times I was on the train, or walking down the street and people were absolutely digging for gold.

  4. Pushing/ shoving - I live in an overpopulated rude city, but I was really surprised to see how aggressive people push and shove, I had grown men grab me and shove me out of the way so they could stand on the escalator infront of me. And people pushing children! I couldn’t believe it.

I don’t know how else to put it but as a culture shock, and I do wonder if anyone else had the same experience as me?

Hi all!

I’m worried about bringing my switch 2 for my flight tonight. Will be doing a layover in Beijing.

Will it all be okay to bring? Thank you

Hello! I am about to head out to Shanghai tomorrow and I’m really confused.

I plan to get an eSIM via airalo - do I need a VPN alongside with this? If so, which to use? I’m seeing very mixed reviews.

Thank you
