PGT-M Hope
I had a hard time finding positive outcomes of PGT-M testing in this sub so I wanted to share my results (that I’m really happy with!)
I’m 38 and late last year got 6 high quality blasts from my 5th retrieval, all of which came back euploid, much to my surprise.
Days before transfer of one of these embryos in early February, I received a call from my doctor saying there was a suspected genetic issue in a baby born to my sperm donor.
This was investigated and just days before my 38th birthday I was told the donor was confirmed to have an autosomal dominant condition and I could not proceed with using the embryos.
Fast forward to today after living what feels like a nightmare and fighting hard to get these tested rather than discarded, I finally received the results. The testing took 16 weeks in total and FOUR came back unaffected by the condition. I am elated!
I know PGT-M results are out of our control, but I wanted to share that beating the 50% odds can happen.
Hopefully my baby isn’t too far away. Good luck to those going through the same thing, it is so tough but there’s hope.
