I dislike Elisabeth Moss' attitude?

https://youtu.be/7_x4f37IQjA?si=kYJVuQZwp_-Dr2E1

I just watched this video with the whole cast and I feel she's putting the others down in a way, disregarding their responses and not giving them space to talk freely even. It weirded me out that Samira even said it out loud "I do not have to ask her, be confident and just answer" because she does have this "I am better" attitude. I thought at first it was just poor writing/directing on THT end, but perhaps this self-centered thing exists beyond the acting huh. By the way, I do like her acting for most of the series. I dislike the plot of last couple seasons but still managed to enjoy it and follow along. I guess this interview confirmed to me that some of those creative decisions with her being a producer are influenced by her not so humble personality. The fact she's in a cult does not make it better.

Don't get me wrong, I love and root for confident sassy women, however I do not think that's the issue. What are your thoughts? What was your impression of this or her in general?

Does anyone else feel like this?

So I just finished season 1, and I feel a very specific way of heartbroken. I find it devastating to see "from outside" what these way too young girls go through. Also, I do really enjoy THT and I liked this new series as well, and I tend to feel sad when I'm done with a series I'm fond of hahaha. Does anyone feel like this? I know we have a new season coming, but I feel sad that it'll take long to see how things work out for them. Also, the fact they're not following the book adds a new layer of uncertainty.

Help me cope by chatting, what was your favorite parts so far?

I loved the build up of scenes where we can see Becka's feelings towards Agnes.

P.S: I will probably feel okay in a couple days, I am autistic so this is normal for me I struggle to adjust after switching up routines :)

contradictions Gilead vs Capitalism

I want y'all's opinion on something I don't see gets talked about often (or at all) and it is in how this show exposed many of capitalism's issues while at the same time showing how an extremist right wing authoritarian regime is not a good alternative. I do feel it's awfully weird that the rebellion fights "to get America back" and this passing idea that pre-gilead America was a land of freedom. It feels completely out of touch, even to the plot because in some moments June is confronted with her privileges from before (when a POC handmaid tells her she had a horrible life before, and now she has her basic needs met and is treated with respect). The show exposes inequalities in America prior to Gilead and they seem to disappear at times. At the same time, I think they expose the contradictions and limitations between both realities, for example the fact Canada seems like a paradise for refugees but they have no solutions to climate change, natality rates, and even the government turns against refugees while Canadians show extreme xenophobia and conservative views (the groups that supported Gilead and Serena). Like given all that, how does no one realise none of these systems are it. Perhaps I'm too much of a 3rd world latina commie for Hollywood, what do y'all think? Also I do understand that many of these contradictions could be explained by the fact living under such an oppressive regime alters your perception of things, also the fact leftist groups would've been cleansed, but are they... not radicalised enough?

I do not know what to do anymore

I am from Argentina. I've been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis ever since childhood, around 7yo. I'm now 23(F) and I am exhausted. I've seen my eczema transform into all sorts of things. Used to be just in my limb articulations, mostly behind my knees. When I hit puberty it extended to my butt cheeks, then my genitalia (it stopped in the first areas). Then I developed it mostly there + I started to develop seborrheic dermatitis in my scalp, that's been the steady flare up area (scalp, genitalia) for years. I tried different topical steroids, shampoos always prescribed by a dermatologist, all of them work but my skin depends on them not to flare up again once I stop using them, this has been damaging my skin. I lost about half my hair, no kidding I am lucky to have a lot of hair cause otherwise I'd be bald by now.

I was also diagnosed with ADHD about a year ago, and decided to try medication for it. At this stage, my flare-ups were doing better, just the scalp, and was low-key manageable. This medication RUINED me. I started developing patches and breakouts in my face, my whole face got itchy and started to developed seborrheic dermatitis there as well. I stopped taking it immediately, but the side effects never left. It's been worse and worse ever since. I have flare-ups in between my lip and nose, in my eyelids, in my eyebrows, and sometimes in the corners of my forehead. Also my neck gets flared up, but now it's been extending to my chest, breasts, and abdomen. I also got rashes on my arms and back. I do all the things I'm supposed to, but none of them seem to help as much anymore. I am barely able to afford my regular treatments (topical steroids, antihistamines and scent free lotions) so I cannot afford any more treatments or a drastic diet change (I am vegetarian and eat a lot of diverse fruit, but due to the current economic recess my diet has been worse than it used to). I also cannot afford to get any testing for allergies or stuff. I feel very much trapped and like no one understands it. It is so devastating. I am going for a recruitment process so that I get a new job. Hopefully that works out and I get to afford a better quality of life. Still, I know working two jobs and being in college will not help with the stress part of it. I am only writing this to vent, since I know most things that would help, require money I don't have right now. Thanks for reading if anyone did, and I hope your eczema is in a better stage than mine.
