’ve always struggled with drinking enough water

I’ve always struggled with drinking enough water. I’ll go several hours without noticing I’m thirsty, then suddenly feel exhausted, foggy, or get a headache. Phone reminders get ignored almost immediately, and most tracking methods I’ve tried only last a few days before I abandon them.I’m curious what has actually worked for other people here long-term:

  • Do you use any specific systems, environmental cues, or habits that help?
  • Have visual reminders, pairing drinking with another routine activity, or something else been more effective than notifications?
  • Does anyone find that adding a sense of reward or making it more engaging helps, or does that just create extra mental load?
  • Any tricks or approaches that have stuck for more than a couple of weeks?

Would really appreciate hearing what’s worked (or completely failed) for you. Thanks for any advice!
