She's so beautiful!

The background is terrible, lol. It's my desk that I do leather work and painting on, so it's not pretty. But she's so fun to pose; I had to take some pictures and share!

Heretic Ghosts Review Part 1: Ektoplasma

I just got the Ghosts Sample box, and as usual with Heretic the presentation is beautiful. I enjoy the book and lyrical descriptions of each perfume as well as the paper test strips. It elevates the experience of trying new fragrances.

Apparently, the perfumes are ordered in the box from least to most strange (so some reviewers have noted). Leave it to me to try the weirdest one first. Here's my review, others to follow in coming days:

The opening is perhaps the most unusual of any perfume I've ever tried. It's ozonic and cold, slightly metallic. I can almost taste it. That note is flavored by a sharp scent of freshly cut flower stems of a particular flower, but I can't quite put my finger on it. A floral note floats gently in the background. I'm picking up carnations and maybe violets. There's something discordant, and yes, otherworldly about this opening: oddly alluring and off-putting at the same time.

The journey continues, and it's a bit of a wild ride because it melts into something comforting and soothing, almost. The floral note becomes nondescript but still present as the sandalwood blooms. It's soft and a little creamy, almost cozy. It's not sweet at all though, like many creamy sandalwoods. I still catch faint whiffs of that electric strangeness, like hair standing up on your neck for some indiscernible, yet unsettling, reason. It's definitely a skin scent, close and personal.

Overall, this perfume is a real journey: slightly scary, but transfixing and evocative. It's the opposite of boring. I highly recommend trying it on skin, not just paper, because it EVOLVES. Is it a favorite? No... Not yet anyway. But it's so very interesting that I have to give it 8/10.

Finally

I've had this WorldBox body for a long time and have been waiting for the perfect head. Tennis MTM has pretty awful screening, even after I repainted her crazy eyebrows. She didn't look refined enough for such a detailed body. Fryda is it! She looks awesome!

Worldbox bodies are almost too detailed though, haha. She even has a camel toe. 😆

She's so pretty!

I am impressed with this one and think they did a great job. Her face was a little flat, so I added a bit of very subtle detail. I boil washed her pony tail to get the packaging kinks out. I think she's lovely!

Elle partial faceup. What do you all think?

The way her lips are shaped it looks like her teeth should be showing a bit, and I didn't like the original color of her lips. I did a very subtle, natural looking lip. How does it look?

I boil washed it and cut it to ankle length. I really like it now, and I can always experiment with braids and waves later if I change my mind. I've been wanting a doll with super long hair, and I'm very happy with her. She's also got my favorite body type, which I usually have to hunt down and pay more for. So even though she was pretty expensive, I got the sculpt and body I wanted in one go.
