I know this sounds strange, but bear with me, I've been thinking about this.

Here's the premise. It's the 2020s and the world is in a bad way. Government agencies operate out of secrecy, cults exploit the poor and vulnerable, terrorists spread chaos and death, and a mysterious and ancient order pull the world's strings from the shadows. You're not entirely sure who's truly your ally and who's secretly your enemy. You can't help but feel like you're being manipulated by powers beyond your control. Technology has advanced considerably, becoming a great advantage to some and an extreme detriment to others.

In this world you have incredible abilities that include, but are not limited to: resistance against lethal damage, enhanced senses, invisibility, muffling physical movements, blinking across distances, jumping large heights, weaponised arm blades, and inhuman strength and speed.

There are many ways to navigate the world and approach objectives, provided you have the right build. You can stealth your way through a section, persuade people to get in somewhere, go in guns blazing, or use your intuition to find an alternate path.

You play as a secret agent, armed with superhuman abilities you never asked for...also you wear a trench coat and sunglasses at night. You move through neon-lit streets, corporate buildings, ruined homes, dark alleyways, and grimy sewers. Your superiors send you to fight shadow agents who don't officially exist, serving masters who no one knows the names of. You meet the people of this world, the feds, the anarchists, the manipulators, the victims, and the criminals. You fight them, make deals with them, converse and come to understand them.

This is a dark and dangerous world. You live in an apartment above an arms dealer, a drug addict, and a serial killer. Somewhere in the city there's a bathtub full of blood. There are a few too many corpses in the sewers. Someone is taking pictures of you without your knowledge. A murder happened outside your home and the police couldn't care less about who did it. Maybe this world can't be saved. Maybe it doesn't deserve saving. Maybe all you can do is fight for it.

TL;DR: I think Eidos-Montréal / Square Enix could make a really good VTM game.

How do YOU design a Primogen Council?

Initially, my question was going to be 'how do you design a Primogen Council', as if there were a subjective and absolute answer. But, the more I get into TTRPGs, the more I realise how much better they function when they're subjective. It's YOUR game, YOUR story. To an extent, you can play it and tell it however you feel is appropriate.

So how do YOU design a Primogen Council? Are they all centuries-old elders or have the elders all left and been replaced by their childer? Are they antiquated, stuck in their ways, or are they progressive and with the times? How much power and influence do they wield, within in the Camarilla or outside of it? Do they represent their clan's interests or are they just the one who drew the short straw at a meeting?

What type firearm could be effective against Kindred?

This is one of those 'Depends on the Storyteller' situations.

"-while an individual bullet might not frighten a vampire, it becomes a different issue when the weapon can remove their head entirely with a well-placed shot, or remove limbs in seconds with a never-ending stream of lead."

I've seen different VTM media treat firearms as either an annoyance or legitimate threat. Anything from a single bullet piercing straight through the vampire to being treated like a mere punch. I can't help but wonder what type of calibres or firearms would be truly effective against a baseline kindred.

The idea in my head is that a single bullet (9mm for example) would drop an unarmored individual and cause them to die without medical intervention. A kindred on the other hand, could have an entire 15 round magazine dumped into them and all they'd get is fractured bones or some ruptured flesh. But a .50 BMG? That seems like instant torpor, if not final death.

Should I get my tooth fixed or have it removed?

Longer version of the question: Should I get my top right molar fixed or should I have it removed and let my wisdom tooth replace it?

Bit of background, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, I drink but not regularly. My greatest vice is sugar and it's probably why I'm in this scenario in the first place. Also, I've had a molar removed previously and let my wisdom tooth replace it. Turned out fine, I use it to chew food to this day.

So, it turns out I need root canal and a crown. I had an X-Ray done, and my top right molar, all the way at the back and in front of my wisdom tooth, is in a bad way and needs treatment. I'll need root canal and a crown which isn't cheap. Especially if I want a white crown and not a metallic one. One suggestion my dad made was to have it removed completely and just let my wisdom tooth replace it.

The real concern is cost. My dad has offered to help me with payment, but I can't help but think I should just bite the bullet and get this stupid thing removed, because this really came out of nowhere. There's also the questions of aesthetics. A white crown would be preferable for aesthetic reasons, but also more costly. A silver crown is apparently more durable, but less 'natural looking'.

Chipped tooth or lost filling?

Having a bit of a panic, first time something like this has happened (kind of).

The day before yesterday I chewed down on some food and my back right tooth felt uncomfortable. I later rinsed with some water and the same tooth felt very sensitive. I thought it was concerning enough, so I booked a dentist appointment for next week. Fast forward to today, I bite down on a bacon sandwich and now my back tooth feels strange. I run my tongue over it and it feels like a piece is missing, like there's a tiny crevice.

There was no 'CRACK' and a jolt of pain, it was just that I took a bite and suddenly my tooth feels different. There's no agony that puts me out of commission, but it is worrying me. I've booked a dentist appointment for tomorrow morning, but I'm feeling anxious and worried.

I don't actually remember if I had a filling there or not, it's not something I tried to keep track of. Also, as a side note, something like this has happened before. My left back tooth broke completely, so I had to get it removed, while my wisdom tooth filled the gap. But this wasn't like that. When my left back tooth broke, I felt the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I didn't feel anything today, I just noticed an absence. Any thoughts or ideas?

TL;DR I bit into a sandwich and now my back tooth feels different. I run my tongue over it and it feels like a piece is missing. Chipped tooth or lost filling?

Not great, not terrible, and ultimately not enough. Like the base game, I can't help but think it needs to bigger, wider, larger. There needs to be more of just about everything. What little is here is good, but suffers from there being so little substance or variety.

Benny is interesting, fascinating even, as far as Sheriffs go. He's a man of stereotypical contradictions. He's a raging Brujah, but also a servant of the Prince. He's the Sheriff of Seattle, but he'd rather burn everything to the ground than protect it. He's a grown man, yet his sire is young and dependant on him. He's got passion and drive, but he never seems to go anywhere or do anything substantial. He's an unstoppable wrecking ball, but all of his destruction is misguided, selfish, and ultimately pointless. I think he's the perfect example of a truly low humanity vampire. No doubt he's at level 2: "Nobody counts but you. Idiots try your patience; worms attempt to take your belongings or attention". He's a lost cause and it's a short, but wild ride to watch him completely lose himself.

The DLC adds some interesting material. The new finishers are brutal and lend themselves to Benny's character. Stomping on heads, snapping spines on his knee, and crushing skulls with his bare hands, they make Benny feel savage, unrelenting, and terrifying. Melee combat and firearms make me feel like we're getting somewhere with this game. Having a mechanic that makes heavy attacks deal major damage but destroy the weapon feels tactical and clever. Getting to fire gun is a unique addition, feels modern and appropriate. And fighting a Lasombra? Being pulled into oblivion and fighting shadow clones, okay! This is good! One of VTMB2's biggest strengths was its visual depiction of the clans and getting to fight a member of the Night Clan was pretty cool. It's not like VTMB1 where we just smack each other with our fists, this guy pulls out some neat tricks.

But outside of a unique boss fight and a gun, we revisit old areas, fight the same old enemies, and don't even get to engage with the rest of Seattle, its people or its places. DLCs are a perfect chance for expansion and experimentation, but there's just not enough here. And that's VTMB2's biggest issues as a whole. There's just not enough.

TLDR: 4.5 / 10
Only buy if you enjoyed the game and want to see more of it.
