First playthrough : Am I doing good ? My character is a male Toreador

I'm finishing Hollywood side quests (Romero's, Imalia's and Mitnick's) to get some XPs before heading to Chinatown.

Before you ask, some details about my run :

- playing with the basic version of the Unofficial Patch

- did most of the side quests so far

- missed some skill books, notably the Firearms ones you can buy from Trip in Santa Monica

- besides that I still want to max Firearms and maybe increase a bit the Auspex discipline

- got 1 dot in Brawl and in Melee each thanks to Nines, 1 dot in Finance thanks to Fat Larry

- according to the wiki, I can't get an additional dot in Firearms from Romero so I'm doing this quest only for the XP I guess...

Any advice ?

Clan Dialogue.

Question for the good kindred of this community. What is some “Clan specific” dialogue you’ve seen in VTMB2?
I’m making my own Dialogue Guide and I want to know what to look out for. Obviously most dialogue is Clan neutral, but I’ve already seen some examples.

Bloodlines is still criminally unmatched!!

Despite launching buggy two decades ago, Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines wrote the blueprint for how dark urban fantasy RPGs should be made. The dialogue branching, the gritty 2000s Los Angeles atmosphere and iconic characters like Jeanette/Theresa Void or the Ocean House Hotel hauntings are pure narrative genius. The fact that fans still patch and play it today proves how criminally ahead of its time the storytelling and world-building were. It remains a legendary narrative RPG that put most modern AAA titles to shame.

Protean is pathetic

I recently decided to replay the game with a couple clans that I haven't given much attention before, specifically Gangrel. Got to downtown, got the quest for Jezebel Locke and quickly remembered why I quit last time.

Sure, I could've done it with enough patience and kept on playing. But it's just not fun watching your attacks miss point blank, not to mention the final attack being egregiousy slow. I'd love to play Gangrel, but protean, which is supposed to be their signature discipline, is just such a disappointing mess I can't look past. Just thought I'd share my pain, I know this has been said already.

Edit: corrected mistake

VTMB Themed Game Night Food Ideas 🥩🍷

With Halloween and the Spooky Season coming up in the next few months, I was curious to know what some of your guys' favourite game night food ideas are for a VTMB-themed play party?

Could be appetizers, full course meals, just drinks and a few easy-to-make snacks with no major prep needed, etc.

I was thinking a unique combo of blood sausages with apples... or a charcuterie board with blackberries and red jams?

Perhaps some red wine...or cranberry cocktails/mocktails...

Just spitballing random ideas...

On that note, this post has made me quite famished indeed

Please excuse me while I find my next meal

Cross of Saint James preorder

Last year when the game was released, there was supposed to be a pre order bonus with the physical copy that included a necklace and Cross of Saint James. It looked amazing! Does anyone know where I could track it down?

Fortitude vs Blood Shield?

TLDR: Which one is better for resisting damage? I know Fort is straight dots to soak, but I don't understand how Blood Shield works in detail.

Missed the City of Kinship ending

I told Mrs. Thorn that I’d support her as Prince (played as a Tremere), but Lou kept the crown anyway.

Was it just because I let Lou have Verona? Did the fate of Seattle come down to one tasty blood doll?

Need ideas for challenge runs

You'd think I'd be burnt out of Bloodlines after doing several consecutive mono-discipline runs, but I guess not!

Like I said, I've done several runs where I'm limited to a single discipline (even posted a discipline tier list based on my conclusions), but I'm at a loss for what to do next.

I've seen Lunastra (YouTube) do a couple challenge runs:

- Blood bags only; and

- Unarmed combat only.

I also remember seeing a "No EXP" run on YouTube, but I can't recall by whom.

I could try one of those, but having already seen someone complete them kinda removes the magic and the challenge. Any ideas?

EDIT: I've already done a "Nosferatu without Obfuscate" run too, it was my Animalism-only run. It's not that difficult, the Masquerade-breach radius around NPCs is tiny, so you barely ever need to go into the sewers to get around.

I Do Not Always Star As The Player Character In The Sequel To One Of The Most Beloved Vampire RPGs to Ever Exist…

But when I do, I suck.

Stay Thirsty, my friends.

Lol! This just needed a Dos Equis parody! Truth be told, I love male Phyre ❤️❤️ and the game was fun even if it wasn’t the same kind of RPG as the original.

Build help before sewers

Im in Hollywood, and about to enter these sewers I've heard so much about for the first time. Im using patch plus tremere with the medicine saleswoman history.

So far the build your looking at has got me from near the beginning of downtown to here without trouble. Thaumaturgy is strong, but ive noticed I don't get blood back from the little rock monster things. Any idea where to start spending?

Can I neglect combat?

Hello, I played this game like, when I was 13 or something and I don't remember anything about it except that I liked it a lot at the time.

Now I downloaded and check the character creator and now I'm wondering it's viable to make a character that doesn't care about combat and try to talk your way out of everything like in some other rpg games?

Or no like it's basically unavoidable and I need to spec into combat?
