I've been trying to get this smug looking vase thing, for TWO days and nothing, ive only seen three of them in total and nothing, id be less mad if they showed up more often in the giant space of Liar Mountain, but they show up barely any, AND ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY
So during the Knight fight in chapter 3 its clear Kris doesn't necessarily want to hurt the Knight, and they refused to hit the Knight if you make it up the stairs in the beginning of chapter 4, most have thought that this means Kris and the Knight are working together, but I think its a bit different then that.
So in that same chapter 3 fight Kris wont do much damage unless he is the only one left standing, which I believe is because Kris gets scared as Dess (who i believe is the Knight) is hurting they're friends, and Kris is scared Dess may do the same to them, as Kris may not be fully aware of saves and resets, so they think that if they die, they wont come back.
In the chapter 3 fight there's also nods to them working together, like Kris coughing and the Knight nodding, and the Knight making Kris kneel or at least not swooning them like the Knight did to Susie and Ralsei, however i believe that is because Dess is under some type of control which also gives them stronger abilities which also makes sense as to how Dess could bring Asgore to the Shelter, but back to my main point I believe that the stuff with Kris coughing, and the Knight not swooning Kris was because the Knight is under control and is being forced to do a lot of things, but is still able to hold themselves back and being able to respond to Kris even barely, which is also why Kris didn't hit the Knight during chapter 4.
Before I talk about Carol, I feel I should mention that if Kris and the Knight were working together, Kris's damage would also be lower for the Titan fight, and when the shelter door opens a little at the end of chapter 3, it may be that Dess who was in control more then they were earlier talked to Kris, im not sure what they were talking about, but i believe it was to talk about what would happen in chapter 4 and 5, since they wanted Kris to prepare but Kris couldn't do anything since we are in control and couldn't hear the conversation.
Now for Carol, I believe that Carol and maybe to an extent Rudy know about Dess being the Knight, which is why Carol was on the phone with Kris, Susie was close to getting the shelter code and Kris and Carol dont want others getting into the Shelter as its dangerous and dont quiet know whats in it yet, and the promise that Carol said on the phone was a promise to help get Dess back as Kris feels at least pseudo responsible for what happened, also where Carol said that "You" are always welcome its clear she is referring to Kris and not us, and I believe its to talk about what to do and the stuff going on.
Now finally as to why Kris was opening some Dark fountains was that it may be part of the promise Kris has with Carol, that he has to make a couple to possibly make sure the Knight doesn't make any in more populated areas, which could lead to mass panic and casualties, which is why during chapter 3 Kris opens the door to bring Undyne in and not capture Toriel as it may seem that she is a more active part of the community then Asgore, or it could be that they wanted to keep their parents safe couldn't get someone to come in the same way that Undyne came as Undyne was also part of the shelter code as the police badge, however seeing as Undyne didn't know what Dark worlds are, they probably wouldn't have a code, but Asgore does which is why the Knight had to get Asgore, now as for why the Knight has to get all these people, I don't know, but its clear that the people are connected to the Shelter and must know something about Dark worlds, however the fact the Delta Rune is on the door could mean we, the soul or the angel are needed which is partially why Kris cant get rid of us.
It seemed I rambled a little at the end there but my main theory is that Kris and Carol aren't necessarily working with the Knight but working with each other fir their own reasons: To free Dess.
I dont want to come here making a big deal of nothing, but honestly, the only Chansin merch there is a finger puppet, which feels insulting if nothing else, I know that there are medals, but i mainly want is something I can prop up or something, I understand that he's nowhere near the top Yo-Kai when thinking of merch, but it sucks how one of my top 5 favorite Yo-Kai get so little, especially since they were in the first game which means so much more time for opportunities for merch, I just wish he was given something more substantial then a finger puppet

I could have sworn in the same way there is a Snow-Mario and Snow-Peach in the New Super Mario Bros U game style in the snow setting, there was a Snow-Luigi, but I can't get it, is it there, or am I actually going insane
