x ultra owners, what are your thoughts on it and if it's worth the switch?

I got a friend who believes 5e is essentially the end all be all of RPGs, and I am very tired of all of the companies trying to prove this by licensing their books to it.

I am very tired of 5e. Does anyone have other systems they recommend? I have heard 4e is bad, 3e is impossible to understand, Pathfinder 1e is for UGLY NERDS, and Pathfinder 2e is goated. Thoughts?

OK. Irl I've been a master baiter for about 10 years. I am a master with a dildo. I even have my favorite, all steel, 5ft, signature series, $900 dildo. I want to bring that into dnd. I asked multiple DMs before making my character can I just reskin an existing two handed bludgeoning weapon as a dildo that my character is proficient with. All but my wife have said, "No. Dildos are improvised weapons." If my character, like me, is well versed in the use of dildos and has never picked up a sword before; do you really think I would be proficient with said sword and do more damage than I would with my favorite dildo!? No! Why does it seem impossible to get a DM to let me have proficiency in dildos? Literally just reskin an existing weapon and call it flavor! Am I wrong here?

O parente de Palacios foi preso em uma investigação que já transcorria há alguns meses. Segundo a imprensa chilena, Soto Guerra é apontado como membro do alto escalão da organização criminosa "Los Pájaros de La Legua", que atua no narcotráfico na comuna de San Joaquín, em Santiago, no Chile.

Ele é pai de Alexia Catalina, atual companheira de Carlos Palacios. A Polícia segue a investigação para tratar sobre a possível participação do jogador do Boca Juniors no caso:

— O sogro deste jogador era um dos alvos principais que estavam sendo investigados. Esta é uma investigação que já tinha longa data. A investigação continua e deverá estabalecer se efetivamente existe algum vínculo do jogador com a investigação pelo delito de tráfico de drogas — afirmou Alex Cortés, chefe da Promotoria do Sistema de Análise Criminal (SAC) da Região Metropolitana Sul.

Palacios jogou no futebol brasileiro entre 2021 e 2022. Ele atuou por 34 jogos com a camisa do Internacional antes de se transferir para o Vasco, em uma negociação que girou em torno de R$ 8 milhões. Ele não vingou no Rio de Janeiro e foi emprestado ao Colo-Colo na temporada seguinte. Desde 2025, defende o Boca, com 37 jogos disputados, três gols e quatro assistências.

GinnyDi posted a video about player x DM contracts that she inspired herself to do after seeing Aabria doing it. Explaining it as quick as possible:

When the moment ask for it, when your roll will either cause the biggest impact narrativaly or when you already failed, Aabria will ask you "How much money would you pay me for your roll to be a sucess?", "How many NPCs are you willing to sacrifice for X thing?", or "How many times are you making me cum to let your character live?". I watched this today and I was like "cool, I need to test it sometime.

I didn't expected the sometime to be so early. I'm running CoS to my players and the today's encounter was VERY clearly supposed to make them run. Last session they had a hard time killing 1 puppy. Today there were FOUR.

Even then they decided to stand their ground. Round 1, one player was already unconscious and another one was at half HP. It was going to be a TPK. And the funniest part is that the CoS:R itself tells you during Session 0 to warn your players that "Some fights are impossible to win. That's by design. Sometimes running isn't an option. It's the option." (which I did)

Well... my players didn't get the memo and after 2 rounds they were full on desperation mode. One of them decided to try persuading the puppies to let them leave using the fact that he was a furry irl. Instead of asking for a Persuasion check, I just put my best scary DM voice and said:

"Karl... what do you offer me for your persuasion to succeed?"

He thought for a few seconds and answered:

"Head?"

I just said "Deal." Not gonna lie... for a brief moment I felt like Aabria.
They were saved by this, but now I'm gonna start thinking of ways to do a good "Furry Arc" lol

This will be rather short and there is virtually no storyline in this case. I have a campaign running with a concept that anyone can cum to a given session announced on Discord, and I, as a DM, try to wrap the adventure up in one session every time. This way we don't have to wait until all the stars allign and every player is able to schedule on the same day. Most of the group are adults over their 30s, so there is a lot of responsabilities and work related obstacles.

There is this one player who is a good friend of mine IRL, who just can't stay silent no matter what. We'll call him Bart in this story. He is a verified seasoned gamer.

When Bart arrives on a session, I'm not able to finish a sentence without him interrupting. Usually he just makes puns and jokes around. This extends to other players too: anyone takes part in a scene? Bart's character is suddenly also there. Someone tries to buy a piece of EQ? Bart's character bargains in given character's name. Someone tries to murder a merchant? Bart's characters teabags the poor NPC. Always there, always talking over people.

I tried a couple of ways to address the problem. First, of course, was just talking with Bart about letting the scene resolve, letting me finish the scene description for better immersion, and overall just being polite towards other people by giving them space to play. Nope, that didn't work.

Then I tried just ignoring Bart when he interrupted anyone, but that just felt wrong. After all the DM is there to listen and respond to the players.

One time I suggested that Bart should maybe take the role of the DM. He tried, but stopped after one session. He later told me that he stressed too much about not being prepared enough, and preparing the adventure took too much time.

Then I even tried the good old "dude, shut up, XY is talking". Didn't work either, and the atmosphere of good fun gaming was at risk.

I wondered about Bart just being bored perhaps? Does he have main character syndrome of some kind? Well, his current character, as well as the previous ones, is very important story-wise. He gets a lot of attention during sessions and the character is pretty well-defined. He is a fitting part of the setting and had a major role in many adventures. I won't get into details, but any other player with this amount of "screentime" for their character would be very satisfied (according to my experience as a DM).

So, I still don't have any way to deal with Bart. One time he has outdone himself to such extent, that even after a couple of months we still tell tales about... The incident.

It was a session with a smaller group. There were three players, including Bart, and me as a DM. I started the session with a recap of previous adventures (of course with unrelenting commentary by Bert), and proceeded to describe the party spending the night by a campfire.

And then, Bart went off. I mean, completely lost the principle of tabletop RPG. He started describing what his character does (not waiting for me to finish of course), and then he described an NPC approaching the campfire. Then he proceeded to roleplay a discussion between his character and the NPC (and it wasn't any of my NPCs, but a completely new one).

Dude just decided to screw this and started playing by himself - the player, the DM, hell - he even told other players what their character's reactions were.

Then he said the NPC he created was actually another player character's mom and that they were there to inform the party that Bart is her biological son too. Then Bart said that Strahd showed up out of nowhere and wanted to marry the NPC. But then the NPC turned into a white dragon and started fighting Strahd. Then, you won't believe it, Tiamat also showed up and started fighting both.

We all (aside from Bart of course) fell silent and observed. I was so dumbstruck by what was happening, that sheer curiosity stopped me from interfering this phenomenon. The other players seemed to share my amazement. We just observed as Bart went through a couple of lines of dialogue, developed his scene, and narrated this epic combat. As the figh reached a climax, he suddenly stopped, looked at me and, with a little confused look on his face, asked: "do you guys want to play pf2e"?

Anyone have similar experiences with players? To me it seems that Bart is a unique example of weird tabletop behaviour. Anyway, thanks for reading and I will gladly see what y'all have to say about that.
