In light of all of the new Black Panther news, I just rewatched Black Panther 2.

Man, as someone who has gone through a few personal losses since I watched the movie the first time, this movie hits you like a fucking truck.

I know at the time it was critically well received, but I think it's still underrated. I think it truly is one of the best Marvel Studios films across all phases.

It's one of the few Marvel films where it feels like the director and the actors are working through something.

In a world of supervillains and cosmic threats, T'Challa dies not from some epic struggle, but from a disease. There's no one to swear vengeance on. There's no one to blame.

The film asks the question - what happens to grief and guilt when there's no villain to point it towards?

All of the performances feel raw, because they are.

The grief is real, and it feels like it bleeds off the screen.

And if there's one improvement it does have over the original Black Panther, it's the final fight. Whereas the first movie had this weightless, floaty cartoon battle with two palette swapped characters, the final battle between Suri and Namor felt personal and ugly and both characters left scarred from the fight.

I loved it. Well worth a re-watch.

Just trying to do a "fixing WWE post WrestleMania 41" game but I want to start after Mania. Any way to do this?
