Any adult Swimming Lessons not at community centres?

Does anyone know of anywhere between Pickering-Oshawa that offers adult swimming lessons?

Preferably not community centers? (Unless you've had an amazing experience at a certain centre)

Indie theatre creators - what do you need most right now to succeed?

As the title says, I'm curious as to what you feel you need most right now that the Toronto independent theatre scene is lacking?

What do you need to build, strengthen, and maintain that middle-ground between high-budget professional and community theatre?

For example, if you need affordable space what should rates be? (Not what going affordable rates should be, I'm looking to hear what artists can honestly pay even if it's only a fraction of the going rate)

If you need mentorship opportunities, what else do you genuinely hope to get out of it aside from Zoom conversations with a mentor?

If you want to put on Equity productions - do you need the documents to be easier to understand? Does the structure/fees still feel feasible in this economy?

What kind of community building would be helpful? Cross promotion with other indie shows? Sharing venue costs/time?

If you need more centralized publicity? What would that look like? (Do you want more traditiinal reviewers to come to indie shows? Do you need a more streamlined way to get influencers at your show?)

Really I'm just looking for honest, concrete thoughts and examples as to what you need to succeed and what resources would help build the middle-ground of the theatre industry. Feel free to expand on whatever is affecting you and/or your team right now.

How to approach doctor who now says Fibromyalgia doesn't exist?

So, my mom and I (34F) share the same doctor. We also share a lot of the same pain.

A few years ago our doctor was confident my mom has fibromyalgia, however a year later he said that fibromyalgia doesn't actually exist and left it at that. He refuses to hear the word Fibromyalgia ever again (hes a super arrogant guy who claims to be an expert in a lot of areas, but family doctors are hard to come by at the moment.)

I've had daily pain for about 18 years now - muscle soreness and tenderness in the upper arms and thighs, vertically along the paraspinal muscles, tender hands, tender feet, daily fatigue, etc. I've haven't approached my doctor about seriously dealing with it because I live far from my doctors office and I dont tend to go to the doctor unless its super serious. But, I did mention the pain briefly once and he said 150 minutes of exercise is all he can recommend.

The daily pain is getting to me now as I'm getting older but I'm scared to even bring it up to my doctor because I know how dismissive he is.

If switching doctors is not an option - how do I approach my doctor and actually get help?

How to start if I want microlocs to eventually look like this?

Basically I plan on starting and maintaining my microlocs myself. Ideally I'd like to start with braids or two-strand twists and then interlock later on.

(I don't have the time or energy to start off interlocking)

Out of braids or two strand twists - which start would best lead to results like this picture over time? Very skinny and uniform.

Would you recommend it? Is there any funding? How much do you end up paying out of pocket each year?

For Communication and Culture specifically, do you ever have to take classes at York?
