Why is it always a competition for who has it worse?

I’ve seen so many people who use their amputations as a scale of whose life is harder. I’m over here trying to be the best I can be and yet so many are the exact opposite. LBK for 2.5 years now and I don’t get it.

I don’t want to cut my mom off but things need to change.

My mom is great, when she gets what she wants. If anyone disagrees with her she’s like a high school girl that tries to emotionally hurt you. Shes always been there for me throughout my life. She thinks money is how you show your love to someone. The problem is, since I’ve had to ask her for help over the years, she always throws that back at me as a reason to do what she wants when she wants it. I don’t yell, I don’t get angry nearly ever in life. Except with her. She just starts yelling and I can’t help it but yell back and I hate it.

I’m an adult with a wife and child. My wife hears it and I don’t hide that from her. I tell my wife what was said on a call, but my mom is the only one I turn my phone volume down when she calls cause I don’t trust what she may say. She will last minute ask me to do something that will take 3 hours out of my day and if I try to push back at all then it’s “I do everything for everyone and nobody ever gives a sh*t about me!” And then hangs up the phone if I don’t say yes immediately.

I don’t want her out of my life but how do I get the respect I deserve when I make decisions that she doesn’t like? It’s so hard because I’ve gotten to the point where I just don’t tell her anything about my family at all because she will always find a way to be negative or tell me I’m doing something wrong. It would be easy to not deal with the drama of her but I really don’t want to cut her out of my life. It’s just hard. Any advice?

Do you think a guy with a prosthetic leg could ride a bull?

I don’t need to get on a pbr kinda bull but I’ve always wanted to see how long I could stay on. Then I lost my leg but I still want to try. Am I crazy?
