What is the softest spurs?

The horse I'm leasing was trained with spurs so he just doesn't feel my heels when I try to use pressure to turn. I don't personally love to use spurs but I feel like I'm going to have to. What kind of spurs are the softest and most gentle?

Edit: Thank you for all the suggestions! I personally am just really nervous about using spurs since I never really have before and don't want to accidentally hurt my horse! I'm not against them at all I just haven't used them much and feel nervous to.

Advice please

Hey Y’all , I’m fairly new to this life style , a friend introduced me to it trying to get me away from a negative life and it stuck , I’ve been eager to learn bull riding and got connected to a practice pen owner , he told me purchase spurs and I did , now I’m just wondering wether the buckle of the spur goes on the outside or inside , feels like a dumb question but I’d rather embarrass myself here then out there , thanks in advance to any helpful tips.

Getting in to cowboying

So I want to get into being a cowboy, but not sure how. I'm a country boy but the most cowboy think I've done is raised 2 cows and I'm not bad with a rope (I could be better). I'm 18, but I can barely ride a horse. I'm in Oklahoma, so I know there's jobs around but I'm not sure how to get into them. I'm really just looking for some advice on how to get into the business.

Question about style and cultural appropriation

Hi everyone,

I live in Switzerland and, to put it mildly, I've always been in love with the American West. Ever since I was a kid, I've dressed like a cowboy, listened to rock 'n' roll and country music, and watched Westerns religiously with my dad every Sunday.

Long story short, I recently bought a straw cowboy hat and I'm planning to get a felt one for the winter. I usually wear blue jeans, shirts or T-shirts, and half boots.

I don't want to pretend that I'm a cowboy. I didn't grow up in a city, but rather surrounded by woods and nature. Still, I would never claim to be a rancher or a cowboy.

My question is: is it okay for a European to dress like that?

And if I ever get a chance to travel to the us with my wife and kids will I get shit for it?

Edit: I received the hat today. I will never be hat less untill I die.

Has anyone ever travelled Northern Europe wearing their cowboy attire? How did it go?

Sometime in the next few years I want to make a trip to Europe, specifically to Scotland and Norway, and perhaps Germany. As someone whose everyday attire is quite Western, how do you think this would be received? Has anyone on this subreddit done it before (hat, boots, button down shirt, etc.)? I just finished reading a post from a Swiss guy asking about wearing cowboy attire in the US as a foreigner, which prompted me to ask this question, essentially the reverse of his.
